What battery jump pack are you using?

I recently bought this one which is AWESOME and started my truck and my wife’s car and my Boat and a guys truck at work which ran out and bought one. Well worth the money but now that I have a new battery in my truck and my wife’s Caddy I’m hoping this thing lasts until the next time I need it which probably won’t be another 3 years? Hopefully it’ll be ok hsnging out in the closet??

I also bought the GOOLOO 2000 based on his video. I've used it several times and it gets the job done. I haven't jumped anything larger than a 3.0 with it yet though.

The NOCO is excellent and was a hard decision between the two for me so I’m sure they’ll both be about the same.

 

I bought the higher capacity DeWalt jump starter, which also has an air compressor, alternator/battery tester and wait there's more... The Taco was parked in the garage for several months, and there was no access for anything other than a portable booster to charge the dead battery. When I replaced the battery to read the mileage from the electronic display to transfer title from the estate, I disconnected the ground cable before I left for a month. That worked out.

Noco GB50. I have jumped a few vehicles with it, Gas and Diesel. Provided you keep it charged up it's awesome.

 

I have 2 Gooloos or whatever theyre called off of Amazon and theyve been good to me for over 3 years, I have 2. One of the best things to purxhase, the days of jump strting a vehicle next to it is a thing in the past and ive honestly have helped out more people on the parking lot than have used it on my own.

 

I've had expensive and cheap.

Bought this Foxpeed October 2020, used twice to jump start an Accord V6 with a dead battery, worked great car started right up. Holds a charge well. Comes with a nice case and accessories. I got it on sale for $63.99, currently around $81 ($76 with coupon on Amazon). The brand name is what sold me.

 

I think the OP made the right choice with the NOCO.

I bought a Nexpow (I think is what it's called) on Amazon a few years back. It has to be topped off about every other month. If you wait a year, you'll be dead in the water. The readout only shows 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. If you wait 3 months after charging and check the level, it'll show 100%. If you plug it in to charge, the 75% light will flash until it reaches 100% again. It is deceiving, and I do not like that aspect.

I've tried it a handful of times with mixed results. It worked well for me the last time I needed it (last week), but hasn't been that great in times before....partly because I hadn't charged it in 6 months. To me, this is one of those things that you should have to worry about charging monthly. So while it is nice to have, I wish I'd have gotten the NOCO when they were 50% off (around the same time I purchased my Amazon special).

I'm keeping my eye out for another great sale on the NOCO and will get one for my wife's vehicle....which has our kids in it 95%+ of the time.

 

I've got an earlier Noco and more recent Audew (Project Farm gave it a good review on a prior vid). The Audew started a stranded car in the desert I came across while only having a 50% charge at the time. This SUNPOW appears to be the same aside from different body graphics. Has a nice shell case for storage.

Is there a way to wire these things into the Taco so they're always charged and ready to go?

 

Mine charges via a USB-C cable. I've thought about just leaving it plugged in, but I would suspect that is not good for the battery pack.

 

That seems kinda chinky. Most devices go into float mode automatically once the device is fully charged.

I have been avoiding Amazon and eBay for years, however exercising great discernment, eBay now has lower fees than other online markets and some great sellers. Found my set of factory takeoffs (Gen3 alloy wheels to replace the Gen2 steel wheels) from a seller in Salt Lake City, which is close enough for some to change to larger wheels and tires for Moab and other off-roading. New TPMS and Toyota parts lug nuts from SoCal. RedLine Tuning has an eBay store with the same prices as from their site. Otherwise, I shop local to support local people and community. Local shop will be installing the new-to-me wheels, TPMS and nuts. Installing the QuickLift ELITE kit also supported local hardware stores with purchases of tools that I was lacking and needed for other projects, too.
