From Method Part number LK-W56015SEB ET. These will be used with Kasnerd's now mine 701's. Do to Tacoma's short studs and the 701's thickness these lug nuts extend into the hole opening beyond the taper to engage more threads. They may also be available from Gorilla as well. The image/picture on Methods site is not of the ET version.

We sell and install a lot of the beadgrip methods. I thought it was kind of gimmicky at first, but I've actually had a lot of trouble unseating the bead on these using my tire machine, so they definitely hold a lot better than a standard bead.

I'm looking at getting these in bronze. I am looking at the 16's with -12 offset. Is this the correct size to get if I want to run 33's with no spacers?

    I don't think they make a 16 with -12 offset. I think its 16x8 0offset

Sorry. Is a 17 in a -12. Either way. Wondering what the best option is for me to not have to run spacers

I run 701's 17x8.5 0 offset/4.75" back spacing. With BFG KO2's 285/75/17 with JD Fabrication upper arms and spindles are reinforced I have about a 1/2" clearance between tire and arm with tire straight. I suppose I should check at full lock but I bet it will be ok.

So far I am stock. Jut throwing on rims and bigger tires, trim where need too then will lift.
Is this size the preferred size?

No one HAS to run spacers. How wide are you wanting to be?

For reference, the Tacoma TRD Pro wheels are 7” wide with +13mm offset. Moving to an 8” wide wheel with 0mm offset will push the outside of the wheel out .99”. So, you’ll already be sitting about an inch wider on each side compared to the TRD Pro. Inner clearance is the same.

Compared to the TRD OR wheels which are 7.5” wide with +25mm offset the same 8” 0mm Method setup would poke an additional 1.21” with inner clearance being a bit better (.72” more).

13mm is .512” so just add that to the exterior numbers above if you need to know how a -13mm offset on an 8” wide wheel would poke.

Google “wheel offset calculator” if you desire more specs. All you need to input is wheel width and offset to get what you’re looking for.

Also, FWIW I am running the 16x8” 0mm Method 701s with a “33 inch” (285/75r16) tire with lift and UCAs and I still need a cab mount chop. Not horribly, but it needs done.

You’re going to have a bad time if you mount 33s on the factory suspension. If you wheel even the slightest I’d suggest dropping to the 265/75r16 or 265/70r17 else be prepared to take it easy until you can drop the time/money on a lift, UCAs, and CMC.

I have also had the JD Fab lower control arm mounts. This allows the lower control arm to be moved forward and the upper moves the upper ball joint (actually a uniball) back only .250". They do also offer upper arms with a set back of .750" if not doing the lower control arm mounts. Depending on how much you lift (recommend max of 2" with the shock) I would stick with a 285/75/16 or a 285/70/17 max unless you are willing to do a lot of work at the rear of the wheel well or move the lower forward. It is a lengthy read if you read it all but you will learn a lot from this post.

    OK,
I'm super green to aftermarket rims and tires. I have a 2002 chevrolet tracker with 31's on stock rims and needed 1.25" spacers to clear.
For my tacoma I am not looking for major poke. I just want to be able to functionally run 285/75r16/285/60/17 without spacers (i hear spacers are not a great idea).

So you are suggesting that the 8 inch wide 0 offset will be fine for my TRD OR?

The lift is on order, so I'll take it easy until it gets here.

You'll be fine with either of those Methods. The issue is with the larger tires.

If lift is on the way then yeah, you probably don't need to mess with the smaller "32 inch" tires like 265/75r16 or 265/70r17.

With a lift, regardless of your choice of 0mm or -13mm offset I'm saying you will likely run into clearance issues around the cab mount when running "33 inch" tires. There may be a combo of some parts where you clear just fine, but I can't say for certain what that combo is.

I can say that I ran the 16x8" 0mm offset Methods with 32s on factory suspension for a year and even getting flexy in Colorado there was zero rub. With the 285/75r16 BFG KO2s on the same wheels I had to trim a little plastic behind the front wheels and I'm still in need of a CMC as there is some minor rubbing when turning with articulation. Again, I'm running roughly 2.5"ish of lift on the OME BP51s and HD Dakars as well as Camburg ball joint UCAs.

Spacers MAY help this, but I'm not interested in that route. Even so, you'd be approaching wide body widths if you're adding spacers on top of a -13mm 8" or 8.5" wheel. I'd say do it right and just get the CMC as needed. They're not too pricey. Usually $200-300 at a local shop.

A buddy of mine ran 33s on the factory TRD Pro wheels (7" +13mm offset) and he claimed to have no issues at all with rubbing FWIW.

My advice: buy the tires and wheels you want with the offset you want knowing that you may need to trim a little and/or get a CMC. Avoid the spacers.

We may be a bit bias @chasenicholas93 but we say, Discount Tire

In all seriousness, we do have a low price promise for all the wheels we offer and right now through December 6th 2021 retail pricing on all Method wheels have been reduced by 15%.
