Front actuator failed so I'm installing the new one in the morning. I read somewhere (and now I cant find it) that you want to manually power the actuator to position it 1/2 through its stroke to allow the computer to read it and adjust it accordingly.

Has anyone done this? I planned to just have it set all the way in 2wd and install it.

That sounds good to me. Only actuator that I have installed that needed calibration was a Turbo actuator. All others were installed where there last postioned and they were fine.

I mean it makes sense to me. Plug it in before you install it, run it from m 4h then back to 2h and install it? I bet @ShimStack knows lol.

I just searched the manual. There is no mention of any calibration procedure. Bolt torque is 15ft-lbf.

    Good luck :hattip:

So just to provide an update. I initially installed the actuator fully in its 2wd position. When trying to shift to 4wd the 4wd light again blinked and would not engage. I ended up unplugging and manually powering the actuator midway through it travel. I then again tried engaging 4wd and bingo shifted like new (better/faster than new actually). Im not sure why but thats what i had to do to get it to "learn" the new actuator.
