Anyone know if these can still take a hit? I'll be reusing the 3/8 mid plate.

I run these. They will take a hit in the middle and bend. You can also bend it back with the stock jack and weight of the truck:

Seems to happen mostly with the mid skid. The trans/T-case skid has enough frame support to not bend. If you plan to run the 3/16" mid skid and 1/8" elsewhere, it would be a good combo.

Thank you good to know. Do you have the transfer plate + cross member as well? I already have 3/16 mid plate and only looking to add front for now so thinking the weight savings there probably isn't worth it.

In my experience the front plate also bends if you hit it in the middle where there's no support, so go 3/16" with that. The trans/T-case plate can be 1/8" - mine's still in good shape after 5 years. I'm running the Trail Toys UHMW plastic skid on the fuel tank. The tank on Tacomas is tucked high flush with the frame, so it doesn't get hit often.
