How many are interested in a tune if a Tuner would come to the No. Side of Indianapolis for an Event ?? Looks like other areas of the country require at least 5 to get a Tuner interested in showing up.

How does the tune do that? Is it able to ignore a specific code or does it ignore all CELs?

Had a super clean 2016 in today for the KDMAXX Tune.. The best part of this is seeing people reactions and smiling faces.

Even if you've been flashed with a base tune from someone else, come see what we can do for you.

I’m late to the conversation here, but yeah, I’m the Reno tuner and have no problem getting out to Sac. I know Russell and I are are trying to work our schedules out. Would be happy to help anyone else out in the area.

I wonder if going from SLT to LT with MTs will cause the rear to slip and lose traction more in rain with the extra throttle. Am planning to test my SLT with rain first. I definitely feel the 33s lol.

I think you will be fine with the LT in the rain. Definitely test out what works for you and your driving style.

I would host that tuning event if you could get at least 2 to show. I would prefer the south side on Indy tho...
FYI I met and tuned a couple Tacomas at Rt1 and I74 a few weeks ago.

try out the regular throttle IMO, let 'er rip :burnrubber: extra tip-in doesn't make it more wild, just more responsive. I went from SLT to Regular, much better responsiveness. Really no downsides if you're an accurate driver.

@travadol How are you enjoying the tune? I’m currently stock and getting terrible mileage 15.6 L/100 avg mostly city driving. But I find the transmission hates to use 5th or 6th on the highway always wanting to downshift. The shifting at highway and improving mileage would be most important for me. I only have 3000kms and 31” FALKEN wild peaks at3

That doesn’t sound right. The KDMax tune stays in 6th and 5th on the highway. Only downshifts to 4th on steep hills or if you punch it. I’d get back with the person who tuned it and have them re-flash you. Test drive it on the highway before you leave to make sure.

Sorry I updated my post. I’m currently stock and debating on getting the tune. I was curious on Travadols experience as that tuner he used would be local to me as Well. Cheers.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely look into that. I find that driving around town, under 40 things are fine. It is when I am cruising on the highway, trying to maintain 65, with a headwind or a slight incline, that I start to wonder if I need a more responsive pedal.

exactly the same situation for me. I left the truck fully loaded before and after the retune. Big improvement at highway speeds, less lag, the truck downshifts and keeps up with the pace I’m asking of it much easier.

I'm easily getting the EPA/NRCanada's rated 10.5l/100km while cruising the freeway. Even in town, if I'm easy on the throttle, I've down 2-3 l/100km since stock. This alone is worth it for me. I do a blend of highway and city driving and use my truck for work. The added power is a bonus but the driveablitity has been the biggest win for me.

I'm bone stock with an ARE Topper with Yakima roof rails. So there's definitely added weight and wind resistance and I'm still getting close to 10l/100km. Just be mindful of your speed. Keep it at 110 or so, and you'll be golden. Anything faster and you're starting to burn more fuel quickly.

I also towed my 4000lb RV and with a decent tailwind was getting 19l/100km and the truck did amazingly.

thanks for the reply. I think I’m going to have to get this done. That sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. 10L/100km would be great to see!

Anyone with a manual still having rev hang issues after the tune? I know from 1st to 2nd is terrible and if the RPMs are over ~4000 then it’s hangs, what seems like forever :annoyed:
