Hey all, Tim here! Thought I'd introduce myself since I've been searching on here for info quite a bit lately. I've owned a 4th Gen V8 4runner for a while now so I'm pretty familiar with them - but now that I've "inherited" a slightly troubled Tacoma I realized I'm much less knowledgeable.

I've been restoring her high mileage, dented, and scratched former work truck little by little. Mechanically, it's great and it also had the frame recall done. I felt it was worth saving, and love the idea of us being a Toyota Truck family.

I own and run Canadiangearhead.com and I've also been doing a series that follows along with the restoration of the Tacoma on Youtube. From what I understand, links to those things aren't permitted so I'll leave that alone.

Fun fact: we just got home from a month long honeymoon where we towed a camper trailer across Canada from Southern Ontario to British Columbia! I'll include a few pics of our trucks here. Thanks for the great resource!

Hey there! I'm doing the opposite as you, rehabbing the SOs old, now unused 03 v8 4runner and getting it back in tip top shape again. My main ride is a 16 tacoma. I just installed an OME lift, new cv axles, new sway bar bushings/end links etc etc. It's been fun battling the rust, but being in Colorado the rust isn't really too bad. All original parts with 155+k miles, most of the fasteners needed the sawzall lol. Wanted to drop in as I've stumbled across your vids on youtube when searching for info on the 4runner... your website/videos have been super helpful. Welcome to taco world!

That's awesome! It's funny to see how small of a world the internet is sometimes.

Not sure which truck you're referring to but the 4runner has a set of Method Standards and the Tacoma is running the OEM Limited wheels from the 4runner.

Congratulations on both joining TW and getting married! Your 4th gen is awesome! How do you like the 4.7? I was seriously considering one until I got a killer deal on my taco.
