If you lived closer id offer you some parts. People buy the things and think theyre worth a fortune in shit condition. Pops has thirty CT-70s in various conditions and enough parts to restore all of them and then some that hes collected over the years, he said he didnt pay more than a few hundred for any one.
Theyre a hoot, thats what my brother and I learned to ride on back in the early 90s and terrorized the neighborhood and pole lines on em. I still have both (my brother passed away so i’ll never part with his)

I’m so sorry about your brother! I don’t blame you for wanting to keep his bike forever. I’m sure you remember and celebrate his life in many ways, but the bike is something tangible that you can see, touch, and ride that recalls what sounds like great times from your youth. My dad kept my 1985 Z50 in his garage in case I wanted it one day. Of course I do, and now that he’s gone, I’ll keep it forever too. I’ve had plenty of offers, as I’m sure you have, but it’s not leaving me.

If I ever do pick up a CT that’s a bit of a project, I’ll track you down to see what parts you have available. If I happen to be in Northwestern Ontario at the time, maybe I could make it worth your while to deliver by trading some float time for you and your hubby. I remember the pictures of his tail wheel training. Maybe he’d like to get his feet wet? Lol

Warm & Safe jacket liner and wireless remote dual zone controller with an ancient set of Gerbing gloves.

    sounds luxurious.

I recently added heated grips to mine, makes a noticeable difference in hand comfort on any ride over 30 mins. Might be time to throw in my jacket liner as well, i've been riding thus far without it. Was a bit foggy this morning and had some condensation buildup on the visor. nothing a quick head turn didn't take care of though

I'm not really a fan of heated grips. Just happens the FJR has them from factory. The cold air is hitting the outside of your hand not your palm. I bought heated gloves over 20 years ago and prefer them. Just hadn't dug out any of my real cold gear as yet. Will be doing that within the next couple of days though.

A whole lot of riding opens up when you learn how to layer and dress appropriately for the weather. Winter riding is fantastic.

One of the coolest things I've ever done was riding around right before Christmas and looking at Christmas lights.
