Yellville for a quiet small town vibe but close enough to "bigger" cities like Mountain Home and Harrison. 2HR to Fay area, 2HR to Conway, 45min to branson, 1&1/2 to springfield. You have Bull Shoals, Norfork lakes, Buffalo River, Crooked Creek, White River. Fay is most certainly where the corporate money is though but also little bit more liberalism.

Having lived in downtown Atlanta, I find it very odd that Harrison or Mountain Home can be considered bigger cities relative to others. I get it, it just feels strange.

I lived intown Atlanta (East Atlanta Village mostly) for 20 years before moving to Rogers, I still chuckle whenever I hear people bitch about the traffic here.

What's the deal with that stretch of hwy 7 all the way from I40 Russelville up toward Harrison having so many car clubs cruising it?

Last 2 trips that way I saw different groups like vettes, Minis, Audi Redline Ralley (bunch of awesome R8s), MG, Jag, ...

It's part of a very well known loop for scenic views and gets a lot of traffic depending on time of year. High points are usually in the spring and fall (for fall foliage).

Edit: Just noticed that 3 of the 5 routes in that link go on Hwy 7 to some extent.

and they've recently repaved and widened 7, added passing lanes, and redone bridges in that section making it a lot more fun to drive

My biggest issue with I-40 is the truckers that take forever to pass each other. It really needs to be 3+ lanes wide.

We now have some Arkansas representation in the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser / Lexus LX470 (UJZ100) calendar for April. The water crossing was taken on the Ozarks Overland Adventure Trail OOAT (Day 2). I was also in the August lineup of cruisers Colorado picture. Calendars are being sold in the UJZ100 Facebook group.

If someone is moving from California to Arkansas, the Pinnacle View neighborhood in West Little Rock has a great view of Pinnacle Mountain and Valley.

Yeah but someone moving from CA probably doesn't consider Pinnacle a mountain... for a good reason.

Anyone want a set of 3rd gen Tacoma floor mats? Both front and rear. Just need them out of my garage.

Those mats look like they might have been submersed in an Arkansas mudhole at some point :D

Hey everyone, quick question for you guys. What do you guys suggest beginner mod wise for someone exploring in Arkansas? Looking to make this into my weekend warrior for camping and road trips. My first thought is front bumper, winch (and other recovery gear), rock sliders, and all terrain tires. I'm not sure if I should do a suspension lift and wheels as well or if that money could be spent elsewhere. I'm looking to take advantage of these Black Friday deals if possible.

It all depends on how far off the beaten path you want to get. Most of the FS roads around here can be run stock with some decent all terrain tires and good judgement. There are some where it would be a good idea to have lift/skids/winch but unless you're dead set on being able to do those rougher roads they can usually be bypassed.

I went a little overboard on my '01 Tacoma and while do plan to do a small lift and skids I'm not planning to do full armor on my '07 4Runner.

Tires will be your best upgrade. Many of us have run trails for years and years, decades with none of those specialty items, and did just fine. Best to figure out your style before you go spend a lot of of money on unnecessary stuff. You'll get 10 different opinions from 10 different people, tho. Winch is nice to have for peace of mind, but if you're not gonna wheel your truck hard, then the rest is just for looks, and some added functionality.
