Would anyone on this thread be interested in a Penn Slammer III 6500 HS? If so let me know and I’ll put up a proper listing.

Been a minute since I’ve been on here but caught this guy off the beach a few weeks back. First bull red/first red drum since moving to FL 3 years ago.

    That’s a beautiful fish!

Mind sharing what your setup was, rod and reel, line, terminal tackle and bait? I’m trying to get back into surf fishing, was never terribly successful with it, would like to be better.

I was running a 13' Florida Surf Tackle "OverTheBar" rod, Penn Battle ll 8000 w/ 50lb braid, and a hand tied "Mortician Rig" 80lb main line with 2 - 40lb snoods 6/0 owner Mutu light circle hooks, and 4oz SinkerGuy Sputnik sinkers. I caught that one on fresh chunk bait from a small whiting I had caught moments before.
