What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

I went to a dealership in Aug. They had a TRD off road with a long bed (what I was looking for). It was the metallic grey which isn't my favorite but was ok with it. Test drove it, got back and said lets sign some paperwork. Salesman says bad news it sold while you were driving it (an employee bought it). I was beyond pissed. They showed me some other options they had coming in but I wasn't having it and walked out very disappointed. I looked around for a few days in surrounding cities and states and couldn't find what I was looking for. Had to call the dealer back and tell them I would take one of the options they showed me. Happier in the long run because I got the LB and in Black. Also have a moon roof and leather which the other one didn't have. paid a little more but was out the door at right around 48k.

 

2021 trd off-road dcsb, with upgraded lights, OEM lift, trd pro wheels, bfg ko2, and skid plate all dealer installed. $45k OTD. Had to wait six weeks, but worth it for no markups/msrp

 

Has anyone had luck ordering/buying TRD Pros and having a dealer agree to MSRP in the Tri-state area? Long wait isn’t an issue personally but would rather not be raked over the coals with ADM.

I got my 21 TRD Offroad in July this year. I ended up paying $40,500, msrp was 41,140. It was very hard to find a 4x4 at the time.

My mistake, It was 45K OTD, not 43K

 

Slightly off topic, but Toyota just released detailed product specs for the 2022 Tundra. It weighs 1,000 lbs more than a Tacoma yet gets the same fuel economy. $50K OTD with lift, wheels and tires. The dealership didn't have to give me a deal, but they knocked $1200 off because it took 4 months.

I don't think you're getting ripped off. I mean anything above MSRP sucks, MSRP sucks anyways. With the market right now, $2000 ain't terrible. The Tacoma will hold it's value so count that as a plus. Dealers near me are putting $8000 over MSRP, and that was in Sept. I'm sure it's gone up. I saw a 4-Runner TRD Pro for $25,000 over MSRP recently. You could have done much worse than $2000. You could have gotten MSRP, but you would have had to make a ton of phone calls, and been willing to travel pretty far to pick it up.
