I found the one you put in the trash. I attached it to the bottom of mine. Got the front done, now I need to find some side air dams and a rear diffuser.

Personally I am offended that people remove their front air dams. It jeopardizes the safety of everyone around them by reducing the trucks stability. Even if you don't care about your own safety, leave it on for the sake of the innocent children.

According to the 3rd gen features white paper from Toyota, the fins on the chin spoiler "improve the air flow to the tires"; you know, for when you street race your TRD Sport.

:der: If the air dams contributed to the Tacoma's stability, thus safety, then all Tacomas would come with them.

I took mine off and did not notice any drastic change in mileage and I dont see how it would change the stability. I don't think the truck would even go fast enough to lose forward bite. I didnt want to push snow with it or risk it being ripped off on a woods road. The only thing I noticed is sometimes under the right circumstances, I will get a whistling noise from under the truck. There are some holes in the lower control arms that apparently are plugged on Off road and pro models but not the sport. Turn up radio or put in the plugs. It has not occurred enough for me to do the later.

Would it be worth it to get the plugs and plug them? How difficult is that to do?

I have those questions posed to me as well by my wife. It's like my wife's court...and I'm husband lawyer justifying my purchase...lol!!!

My duty hours are 0600-1430 (6am-2:30pm) so deliveries can be retrieved before wife comes home at 1730 (5:30pm).

It doesn't always work (small % of time)...retrieving packages before the wife sees them...lol. In those instances, I'm tap-dancing! Hahahahaha!

Married life is so fun. (30+ years for us)

Another satisfied customer with no air dam. Driving into a strong headwind she'll whistle some for me but I wouldn't go back over that. They're far too ugly to leave on!

Did you try the plugs in the LCAs fix for the whistling?

No, I never felt that it was important enough to look into. It only happens on certain days when the wind and humidity is just right. I drove 400 miles and back over the mountains for work yesterday and didn't hear it once.

I put on bigger tires, sliders, and a smartCap among other bits - now my truck tends to lose stability and often gets on two wheels. It came without an airdam. Sometimes it is the right or the left. When it lifts the back onto the front wheels it is not too bad as I can still see down the road... A punch on the accelerator will get me back on all 4 wheels. - But when the front lifts up it is quite bad. I loose steering and I cannot see where I am going. One time it was up for almost 1/4 mile.

Fortunately, it was on a straight stretch on the freeway. I am also lucky to have a manual - this way I can hit the clutch and freewheel - slowing down gradually to get the wheels on the ground without hitting the brakes. (otherwise it slams down quite hard.).
I have found nothing in the manual about this condition. I am glad I found this thread.

I believe I have found a solution based on the white paper listed above.
Please do let me know if you have an airdam for sale. I estimate I will need 6-7 airdams and I will need to install them like a skirt all the way around the Taco - leaving no gaps. I will also need to install one facing up on the rear edge of the cab - like a spoiler. I will also need hood and window wind deflectors to counteract the uplift. Apparently these provide a bit of downforce.

Sort of makes sense - right?

It seems distribution of the accessories' weight and lack of airdam causes severe uplift on these trucks. I my set-up seems to have produced some of the most severe results seen so far.

I spoke with Toyota corporate and due to fear of a class-action lawsuit they will issue a mandatory recall shortly to install an airdam skirt all around and to the cab of all 2016-2022 Tacomas as I described. Tacoma production will stop immediately.

The recall will not cover the wind deflectors. These are deemed to detract from the looks of the truck so severely that it is not worth the aesthetic impact - despite the grave safety concerns.

Airdams are now found listed for prices now exceeding the MSRP of most Tacomas, so good on you if you saved yours.

Just wanted to pass that on...

    WOW!!!

    So AIRFLOW!

The air dam keeps airflow from causing lift!

At least, from reading your narrative, that's what I'm concluding.

EDIT: A splitter/air dam (adds balance) in the front while the spoiler adds downforce in the back. Tacomas don't come with spoilers in the back...or do they get added?
