Harry and I talked about dimpling all of my plates but we realized that we needed the flat surface area because we are moving all of the brake, fuel and electrical lines out to the surface of the plates so they will more easily serviceable etc.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with lines yet. Main reason I am dimpling is for a place to flush the crap out from inside. Ill dimple down the center with drains along the bottom. Just what I have to do living in a salty and muddy area.

Um…there’s something called out of sight out of mind I suggest you look into. If you can’t see it, it’s not broken. Weld everything shut and if something fails buy a new truck. Easy.

very much looking forward to pictures! And the next logical question is whether or not there is a DCLB available there for prototyping and productization

I think the DCLB has the same back half as the Access cab. So theoretically it should be possible if he has a DCSB and an access cab to design off of.

Pretty sure the access cab and dcsb are the same frame.

the bed itself is shared between those two models, so the very rear most portion of the frame is the same. but the DCLB has different cross members underneath, carrier bearing area and other things are different to my knowledge. Maybe for the purpose of plates only there is commonality, but I think there are things that are different between cross members, cab mounts, fuel tank, etc. Hope you are right, but in the end what I care about is a DCLB kit I can get my hands on.

I wonder if anyone can give away some details on how far forward and rearward the box kit will go? I know the concerning area is from forward of the rear axle up to underneath the cab. But will the kit go back to the bumper and forward to where the frame is boxed already? I assume that the section behind the axle would be accommodated by the fuel tank product that they already sell. And maybe going all the way forward isn't needed, especially if sliders also help stiffen that section?

No, you need a tablet right here that’s running Gaia maps while you drive down the interstate and it obstructs 40% of your view out of the windshield.

I’ve never understood how people drive with screens above the dash line blocking view.

I can barely see out the front of my windshield as it is. The rear view mirror and a-pillars are huge and I’m a short fuck.
    Plus, my snorkel…:anonymous:

Feeling cute, might block the rest of my windshield with an iPad.

Lol depends on if it blocks view. You still have visibility out of the driver window for stuff mounted on the a pillar. So I guess it isn’t that bad. My phone is mounted but it obstructs view of my head unit. Steering wheel controls and the phone itself really don’t limit me playing music.

my a pillar has an ultra gauge but it’s low where it doesn’t stop me from seeing out if the window.

    THIS 100%

Frames are different the DCSB and ACLB are the same our crossmembers where the "S" is located, the CB crossmember etc. is all different. Despite sharing the same bed as ours nothing matches. That's like saying the DCSB is the same forward of the bed becasause we share the same cab. There might be some sections and pieces that would be the same but there will also be quite a few different sections. That's why I chose to make my own plates when I boxed my frame in.

DCSB and AC are the exact same. The DCLB frames are different the frame doesn't kick up for the rear suspension till after the cab and our CB cross member are in different locations. Also the DCLB frame has different mounts and locations on the frame for the bed and cab. Nothing is really shared from the trans x-member rearward between the DCSB/AC and the DCLB.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I've spent alot of time lurking and drooling this thread...wishful thinking and planning.

If someone (myself) were wanting a total JD Fab setup:
Are these the correct parts and quantities? Am I missing anything or am I doubled-up on any quantities?

The only product that specifies [Sold Each] are the bump stops but I'm assuming many of the other items listed are also sold individually: Coilovers, bypass shocks, bypass shock hoops, spindle gussets, double shear steering kit.

Looking like around $14k for everything listed above...
