Factory bolts can be considered similar to SAE grade 5, but it doesn't matter - the Demon Bracket design wraps around the crossmember, so the bolts aren't loaded in shear. The weakest link will be the factory crossmember, which has very thin walls. Its strength also depends if the two factory braces tying it to the front diff crossmember have been removed. Most aftermarket IFS skid plates delete the two braces.

This thread needs to die or someone needs to actually show them being used with or without failure. I can’t believe all these people who say they “use them all the time” for recovery and there isn’t one single video. :boink:

The Demon shackles system …looks really cool on the street, adding some aggressive looks to the front….
Just wondering …if it shackles rubs, or catches the ground and will it ruins the shackle’s ?
It seems to hang very low…. Going down or up a hill..dips the front, will the shackles get in the way?
For stock and under 2.5 lifts..?
My factory skid plate has a few dents…and the dents…would be parallel to where the demon shackles would be..
I guessing I have answer my own question….lol
    Aloha,

They really shouldn't have any shackles on them for day to day use. And if it is just for looks then ruining the shackles won't matter because they aren't being used.

Question. I know demon shackles are not meant for recovery. But is the hook the off road gets any better? I thought I read that the hook isnt designed for recovery either. I am looking to add the demon shackles with D rings to my offroad for looks. But you have to remove the factory tow hook to fit them. My concern is; what if I need to be pulled out of a ditch or sand? Is removing the hook for the demon shackles a bad idea? If I had to guess, the hook is probably a better idea since it used two bolts. But is the hook really that much better? Both are just attached to a cross member.

We were never able to do any sort of testing, as he had a JD Fab LCA Tray installed too quickly. We live in different cities and our timelines didn't allow us to pull it off.

Semi functional or not, love the look! And FYI to all, had to remove the passenger side factory tow-hook to install. 2022 Pro.

    Stock.
The drivers side hook os not removable. Even with demon brackets installed, the drivers side hook will remain, unless you literally cut it off. Imho, the demon brackets are no weaker than what came stock on the truck. If I ever have to use mine for recovery, I will make sure to record it. I doubt anything will happen.

Man, this Demon Hook thread is way tamer than the other one I just read.
