Thank you all for your responses they were very helpful.
I have been dealing with the same dealer for 20 years and they are stellar but I have to drive 1 1/2 hours just for my service. The last 3 years have been going to a mom and pop repair shop that has been run by the same family for 3 generations and they are well known with a great reputation for repairs with honest friendly approach.
I will have to really think this over before I decide within the next month or so.
    Thanks again
    Gilles

I service my own vehicles for reasons which have already been mentioned here. As others have mentioned I keep reciepts but I also update the 'My Toyota App' with what I did and when I did it. Part of my job requires keeping very detailed records of work completed so I'm used to documenting what I do.

I do just to eliminate one more thing for them to deny me on a warranty claim. Plus it is easier since they keep the records as well. I also go to a different dealership than I purchased from.

Absolutely not. I had a service credit which paid for my first service and oil change. I told them I would be doing the oil changes and such myself. Service dept went as far as to tell me to buy a little notepad to staple receipts in and note date and mileage of services so everything is easy to find in the event of a warranty claim. They obviously acknowledge a lot of Tacoma owners are ones to do their own services and respect that. Just more confirmation as to why I bought a Toyota product. Unlike the GM service fool who told me the drop in K&N filter will void warranty as they did not install it :rofl::rofl:

I do however purchase oil filters from Toyota as they're good quality, cheap and they have record of this.

Not for routine maintenance at all. Yours is not unusual . Enjoy your truck and spend your money locally without worries.

Everytime you don't get your Tacoma serviced at the dealersip, Toyota kills a puppy.

Why do you guys hate puppies?
