I have the 09 4 Banger strd base cab. It doesnt have any fogs and im lookin into buying some. when i take these little cones out of my bumper where the fogs should be, there's some sort of wire running to it...but it just plugs into some plastiv piece and its not being used. can anyone tell me what the wire is for and/or how to mount fogs in there?

Your truck is pre wired for fogs. So that being said you can use those wires but on your dash you have two rows of switchs the top left is for the fog. Pull that out and see if a wire is conected to it if so all you will need is the fogs the switch and the fog relay.

I'm interested too, I was under the impression the 4cyl trucks were not pre-wired for the fogs. I have not found any wires on mine. Maybe you could snap a photo of the wires you found and the location of them.

Thanks, I hope you found wiring you can take advantage of.

I installed ebay fog lights on mine. They sell kits that have everything. If your prewired (mine was not) it should be uber easy. There is a good thread on here somewhere that has a good step by step instructions. Search your should find it pretty easily.

You have to be carfull with this. Some of the fogs wireing is not done right AND the switch does not fit. So be careful when buying ebay fogs.

PIAA makes a kit for our Tacomas. The fit is a little hoaky in my opinion though, but PIAA 510's I'm told will fit in the stock fog holes nicely...

The switch did not fit on my ebay kit, I bought another rocker switch off ebay that almost fit. I had to get out the dremel and modify the truck a little to get it to fit. Works great.

Thanks for all the replies guys. but theese here are the wires... there's a positive and a negative just like for any other light..except the plastic plug just plugs into some plastic piece. its pretty obvious i think that these wires arent being used...but i checked behind my dash where my KC switches and bluetooth are and i couldnt find ay other non-used wires. What's my next step guys???
And i followed the wires and im pretty sure it runs into my fuse box
