Benchmade is a solid performer but more than some. Personally, I have multiple benchmades amongst others, and to be honest, I find my Kershaw Blur is the one that always finds its way into my pocket when walking out the door.

If you find yourself travelling internationally often, or have restrictive workplace policies, a run of the mill Swiss Army Knife (my preference is the evolution14) is a pretty good contender as well.

Only ones I have were issued to me. These days I carry a Victronox Fireman and it’s taken everything I’ve put it to without issue.

Meh. I'm sure many of the people at Toyota, or anywhere else, are in the same boat.

You’ll find that most large international corporations support opposing viewpoints in an effort to hedge their market share.

This is not actually true by the way. To the best of my knowledge anyway. What they did was volunteer to assist local law enforcement in destroying seized firearms that WERE GETTING DESTROYED regardless. The local PD posted a pic thanking them for the assistance and some morons were outraged. They have since implemented a policy that they will not assist in the future because of this. Which in my eyes makes them less helpful and supporting of law enforcement but play stupid games win stupid prizes I guess. And a bunch of people saw some post on facebook, made a bunch of assumptions and decided to cancel Benchmade though they support everything those people who wanted to cancel them support. But whatever, Benchmade is a fine company.

So.... What Benchmade actually did was volunteer there employees, resources, facility and time to assist the local PD at the request of the PD and so I guess if that gets you sideways somehow then by all means find another brand.

I've seen a Home Depot cashier hold up (and piss off) a long line of customers and cost H.D. at least $20 in labor costs in order to get a price on a $1 item that was missing it's tag.

I always make sure an item I'm buying has a legible bar code or SKU # and always check boxes to make sure the item is not damaged, missing parts or even a used item that was returned and put back on the shelf.

I had a porter cable one for years from Lowe’s. Sucker drilled thousands of holes with no issues. I liked it. I picked up. A mill thinking that I could use it to drill holes as well and sold it but regret it now. Was easy to keep a step bit in and just flip on and drill a hole or two. Now working on making my mag drill into a bench top drill press ish

If you're just getting into knives I always recommend the Ontario RAT 2. Good size, sturdy, sharpens well, and you won't be pissed off if you lose it.

Anything new will be imported, except for genuine industrial tools.
Seems most of the imported drill presses and band saws are made from the same patterns, I have seen Craftsman, Enco, Edco, Jet, Grizzly, Delta, Harbor Freight, Dayton and others that look identical except the paint and decals. Although the bigger names might be built to tighter tolerances than the identical looking unit that came from the rolling tool sale that sets up at the Legion or fire hall every year.

    https://www.grizzly.com/drill-presses
Grizzly Tool has a wide selection and can actually provide parts too.

If you want US made it will be an older model. Watch the usual used outlets CL FB, etc.. I got an old Walker-Turner for $100. Drill presses aren't difficult to freshen up, all that is in the column are some common bearings available at any industrial supply house or McMaster-Carr.

Sometimes auctions (real in person ones) can provide some good scores too. Watch for industrial/commercial business auctions.

Also HGR has a little of everything, just keep checking their site, they are in Ohio. We bought several items at my old job, all were as described and shipped promptly.

@cynicalrider shared the link to these locker cabinets so I went to pick one up the other week. Was missing a few bolts and clips, ordered the shelf clips that came in the other day so I worked on moving some stuff in there. Keep my riding boots, hunting clothes, misc crap in there I guess lol

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
It is easy to make a stand for what ever bench Top Drill Press you might have or get.

To me the only real advantage to a floor model is being able to have far more room between the table and chuck to drill large assembled parts .

Find an old Walker Turner or Rockwell or Buffalo in good condition. They're fairly cheap and will run forever, maybe not the motor, but you can swap it out with a new Baldor very easy.

8-1/4 DeWalt table saw on sale for $300 instead of $400 normal price.
I would like the 10 table saw but due to the price and much lighter weight I may buy this 8-1/4 table saw. Granted the 8-1/4 does not work with dado blades which is a definite negative for the future.

Now I can't remember if I have the 8 1/4 or 10 jobsite saw. If I did it over again I'd probably get get one with the wheeled stand like the RIGID 10 up right now for $399.

I've used the 8-1/4 inch dewalt and it was really nice especially the fence adjustment, it seems the 10 inch is just a larger version of the same design.
