Soo got into a little fender bender today and my front bumper valance(not sure if this is what its called) got swiped off. Not much damage so me and the other party decided to not do anything (you fix yours I fix mine) type of deal. My “valance” clicking brackets/mounts broke off so I cant just clip it back in.

    My questions are…
-Can i replace the clips somehow to reattach my own valance?
-Should i just buy a replacement one? Online or from a fellow TW user, assuming someone has the original one after getting bumper upgrade?
-Do I just get a new bumper?

I cant really spend more then couple hundred to get this resolved.

Also need to snap back side of bumper near the headlight that popped out.

    Thank you all in advance.

Bummer, sorry it happened. You got the worst of it. Really the bumper needs to come off, the black absorber needs to be replaced, and the missing bumper garnish needs replace. The actual bumper needs repair or,possibly replace also. Hard to really tell.

This will get covered up so you don’t have to replace, but you should . It is involved with you bumper protection as you can see and also airbag timing

Your lower grill is scraped, you could probably clean up and reuse. If tabs broken or gouged bad, again have dealer check all part numbers by your vin

YUP, that's what I'd do. But I do feel your need resolve it for no more than a couple hundred.

Its gonna be more than a couple hundred esp if it has to be painted. Better decide what you want as far as bumpers go

It involved popping the crash absorber back into shape only one and a half of the boxes were a little smashed in and I was able to push them back into shape and they feel pretty solid and making a couple drill holes on the valance and running zip ties through the drill holes into the original opening for the clips which were broken off on my valance and the results are pretty solid for now at least until I decide if I should spend six 700 to get a decent front bumper

nah man, looks good to me. it's doing what it is supposed to. I would be satisfied; $1 and some time, not bad at all.

I would leave it unless it is something that would drive you nuts. I would be that type to drive me nuts, but if not a huge deal leave it until you are ready to fix or get that aftermarket bumper soon to be on sale for the holidays.

Unfortunately I've learned the hard way to always contact PD and have a police report filed at the time of the incident even if it seems minor. What starts out as a "oh no problem let's just take care of it ourselves" on a Friday can result in the other driver filing a claim with their insurance company on Monday and claiming it was your fault, especially if they find out the repair is more expensive than they originally thought. Worse, they can contact PD and file a report on their own after the fact without your input. If you have no police report taken at the time of the incident you have no record of what actually happened, and it's harder for your insurance company to defend against a claim.

Good point. He could say you left the scene. I also just noted he had damage to his quarter so it is going to be more than a $400 dollar repair. If he goes to a body shop to get a quote and the say $1500 he may freak.

If ir was me and there was some way to prove it was not your fault I would call the other driver and tell them your damage is worse than thought and need hisinsurance. Only if you think they would say ok. If you think they blame you I would leave it. You never know, I would admit fault and give insurance info in this situation if I hit you

BCBAA95E-273B-47AB-B519-310FC4F9D06C.jpg Well boys its been over a month and I have not had any issues with insurance. Hats off to the person for keeping their word.

-Update on the zip tie fix
Valance piece has held up nicely, I even managed to get some minor scratches on it during a recent off-roading trip (Hungry Valley in SoCal) and its still going strong. I am thinking of spraying it with plastidip or bedliner spray just to mask the scratches.
