I am having 3 issues with CarPlay. The dealer has not been able to fix it.
1.) When my phone is used through CarPlay people complain. Muffled and low column. Dealer said they did a software upgrade. Still not right.
2.) when I push the button on steering wheel to wake Siri on many occasions it is like the phone is not plugged in and running on Bluetooth. The phone is plugged in. Maps work, pandora works but I cannot access Siri
3.) many times when I plug the phone in car play does not come up. Unplugging and reinserting the lightning cable does not help. Eventually it will connect but it may be 4-15 minutes before it does. Anyone else experience this?

Yes. I just bought a new one tonight and tried it. The newcable is an Apple cable. It made no difference.

Believe you need to press and hold the voice button on the steering wheel to pull up Siri. Could be wrong.

Check your charging port. Mine had a bunch of lint in it and the cord wasn't seating right

    None.
There are a bunch of crap Lightning cables in the market. Also; I have had a few cables that partially failed and resulted in oddball problems.

I really like Anker’s cables. Some of them have a lifetime warranty. Available from their Amazon store.

I have never tried to start Siri by pressing any button. I just say, “Hey Siri …”

Be sure you do not have your phone also paired with Bluetooth. I was seeing similar issues. It’s like the head unit got confused as it was connected by both Bluetooth and CarPlay. Once I deleted the Bluetooth connection, it worked great.

It was paired with Bluetooth. I just removed the pairing. I will give that a try a bit later. Did removing the pairing fix the quality of the audio on the receivers end.

Try shutting down your phone and restarting it. I have a iPhone 7 Plus had no issues with my Apple car play in my 2020 4runner pro. And no issues in my 21 Tundra Pro. I read up where it seems a lot have issues with the 11, and 12 iPhone connecting.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I have some issues with CarPlay as well. For reference, I have a brand new iPhone 13 pro and an original Apple cable and everything is up to date. My issue is the navigation voice is so low you can hardly hear it. In my Chevy, you had a separate volume control for Siri's voice. On the Taco, you do not. It's annoying as fuck.

I have the same issue with the talk volume in my 21 tundra Pro. I have it up all the way. And I have the JBL system. I had no issues with the talk volume in my 2020 4runner Pro. I will have the volume corrected in my tundra when my new sound system gets installed soon.

I may have to go that route as well. New sound system will resolve the issue.

Did y'all resolve this? The audio output on the receiver side is apparently really muffled and this doesn't happen when I'm connected to Bluetooth, only with Carplay.
