Well, I got an update and I feel like I lucked out. My dealer called me yesterday and said someone took their name off the list for a DCLB OR Lunar Rock allocation. It was the exact truck I wanted and she put my name on it before even calling me. Toyota is building it starting today. I was waiting specifically for that color / trim / package combo so I am pretty excited.

So, still not done waiting but it it feels like a really big milestone to move from waiting to even secure a build with how things are out there.

    Hello All,

I have read a through much these posts. This is what I have for my Tacoma that I put a deposit down on. I was first told on 10/20/21 when the deposit was put down that the truck would be here 11/04-11/09. Now they are saying 11/10-11/15. Seems like many people got their truck quicker than not. This is the first vehicle I have not bought off the lot. It is typical for it to take 3 months+ from the order date too get the actual truck? Thanks and hope this all makes sense!

Seems like 3 weeks, not 3 months, right? Or you mean the Toyota order date to delivery?

In any case, I had about a week slip between when I initially anticipated delivery and actual delivery. A few port accessories also changed from temp VIN to final VIN.

My order date was also August, but the truck arrived at the very end of October. Your timeline seems reasonable, as I'm sure there's some spread of August orders.

Your dates look like it's less than a month for deposit to delivery so I'm confused why your asking about 3+ months.

My truck took seven months to arrive after deposit so it depends. Some people get their truck a week after deposit if it had already been allocated, built, and shipped.

My delivery window also changed twice. Shipping is messed up everywhere right now. There are no guarantees.

That sucks about the trade difference. I can see that price on the Pro in my area being correct with MSRP plus taxes and fees.

I'm shopping for a used vehicle until my new Tacoma gets built. 2006-2008 Tacomas with high mileage in my region are listed at $12-$15,000. Crazy times.

This was my first post in this thread a couple of pages back…
“I put down a deposit on a 2021 TRD OR on Oct 6th. I wanted one with the full technology package, but after some back and forth over arriving inventory at the dealer it was clear that the full technology package was rare (chip issue? chips going to PRO model? The salesperson did not know), so I settled on Safety Sense being enough. I got a call within a week of a truck meeting my specs, and the salesperson reserved it for me. I have been getting weekly updates on status, the truck is supposedly waiting to get on a truck.”

My additional comment would be that while I also had color preferences, and black was not one of them, I just decided to take what I could get rather then waiting. The local dealer seemed to get a fair number of Tacomas in green, black, and white. No Cement, my first choice. The salesperson laughed a bit about the wait times for Lunar Rock Tacomas while I was staring right at RAV4 in LR. I told her I was trying to be a good customer and be flexible. We both laughed over that. I would love to learn more about the supply chain and production process for Tacomas built in Mexico.

Well guys almost 120 days to the date I made a deposit I was notified by my dealer this morning my taco would arrive on the lot 12/13/2021! I only had to make one concession and that was no black bezel headlights, just the regular led with the chrome housing. He said I could wait to see if he got one with that allocation but I said no ship it! Good luck to the rest of you.

Cement isn't offered for '22... that would have been my first choice too. Glad to hear you were able to get your name on a truck that you'll be happy with!

Wow, that's hard to let go of! Keep both of them!!

If you bring that truck to Hawaii, you'd get a million dollars for it. Haha
