    I've been sick; Not COVID...

    This weekend I'm using my truck to pull my friend's mom's nonrunning 2007 Camry Hybrid with almost 200K miles out of the garage!

    I feel; My mom is making me get a COVID test though...

    I seriously NEVER get sick and I think that sequestering in my house and social distancing for most of the last two years has lowered my immunity to other things; I also don't know if we are gonna be able to get the Camry out of the garage using just the Tacoma because it doesn't run, it's a pushbutton start, and I have no idea how to get it to accessory and shift it into neutral to get it out of the garage. This is regardless of whether we use the Tacoma or push it out of the garage...

    I bet two young whippersnappers in half decent shape have more power than the 4 banger :thumbsup:

    I'm thinking we put Doug's mom behind the wheel and push; She won't have any power steering but all she needs to do is keep the car from hitting the sides of the garage. Actually, I'm wondering if at that low of a speed the hybrid batteries will kick in...?

    Maybe you can try jumping it just to get it into neutral , then disconnect, shut hood , push.

    The fact that it's pushbutton makes it tricky; Pressing the start button without applying the brake pedal puts it in accessory mode, right?

    Yes for my Nissan, once is accessory mode then twice is on. Not sure if the camry is the same.

    And what's confounding is that a Camry would puke it's oil out at less than 200K...

    Yeah, it doesn't run; Doug's mom bought a new Camry Hybrid and Pete is buying the 2007. He's likely gonna put a new engine in it and flip it. The Camry has almost 200K miles and I haven't seen under the hood yet but Doug says it's covered in oil...

    @Plain Jane Taco

    Bill, what do you think? It seems weird that a well-maintained Camry would give up the ghost at less than 200K; I know non-hybrid Camrys are prone to excessive oil burning when the mileage gets higher (Don't know about hybrids), but it just seems weird that my friend's mom's car would shit the bed when these cars routinely see 500K as taxicabs.

    Sounds like you have a fun project with the Camry. Make sure you have air in the tires before you start pushing

    So the engine is locked up or is it just puking oil?

    Not yet; Haven't reached Doug, and Joe had to cancel on the detailing for today because he worked overnight until 7am this morning...

    My neighbor hit a deer with his 2016 Expedition on his way to work yesterday morning; Here is the resulting carnage...

    How do you know it's totaled? Airbags didn't go off; It's a 2016 Expedition with like 80K miles on it...
