They must have priced it against an Off Road Premium as the Off Road Base is less expensive.

Yea, you could get a manual OR without the premium package for cheaper than this TE. Toyota gets you on weird packages that are needed in certain colors or trim levels.

My wife is salivating over the lunar rock and bronze wheels.

Hate to break it to ya babe, I'm sticking with a plain ol MGM SR LOL

Looks pretty sweet. Definitely exciting to see the truck market continue to grow.

Apologies if it's been discussed endlessly already, but... what do folks think of the lockers in the sides of the bed on this Trail Edition and the previous one? I can't decide if I love them or hate them. It looks like you'd lose a few inches between the wheel wells and a lot of space above them. Are they removable to expose a normal bed underneath?

I see someone said they ordered a Trail Edition. I've called numerous dealers here in GA and almost none of them have any clue what it even is or think it's the same as the 2021 version. I can't seem to build one on the Toyota website either. Has anyone in the south east, preferably Georgia, had any luck getting info on them? If so what dealer(s). Thanks!

Yeah once you remove them it's just the normal bed liner underneath. Most people seem to hate them but I’ve heard of some non-Trail owners looking to buy them so I think you could sell them if you really don't like them.

I’ve removed mine. They’re…fine. They leak. And they take up space. So I took them out. Cool idea, bad execution. Ask me anything about them.

You can build one on toyota.com. Use zip code 30114. Start with the SR5 trim. It won't give lunar rock as a color right now so you can do black. When you get to packages, you'll see the option for Trail Special Edition.
When you add it though, it gives you white or green as the only color options.

They must have added that later yesterday or today, because I see that now! haha. Thanks for the info! I'm right next to that zipcode anyways in Ball Ground. Green is also my color of choice.

Yeah, that green with the bronze is killer. I need the Pro though...lol

I'm right on the cusp of Ball Ground/Canton.

As someone who has no need for the locker, this makes me very happy I was able to get my 2021 trail last December for 7k less.

What was your deciding factor for picking up the Trail versus a regular SR5?

To be honest, mostly the army green. But also….The truck won’t leave the pavement so I don’t need the OR features which would have been more $$ for that trim at the time. And availability. I also like the interior color with the tan stitching. I wanted the bed outlet. And overall the truck looks friggin great with the green and black color scheme.

I bought my OR (MT+ adv tech)for less. Hell, I could have got the lift and still cost less. So I could have a more well equipped truck, with better suspension more options AND more lift, for a lower price.

    No wheels though

In canada, TE is 2000cad more than OR, of couse the money is spent on lift, wheels. Canadian version TE gets Predator step bars as well.

I see its showing around 6k for the "trail" package on the SR5 on toyotas site. I have a print out from my dealer that its running me $3,765 extra plus the tech package for 600. Total quote for the truck is $41,235 including delivery and handling fee of $1,215
