What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Oh man...I know my rear brakes are atrocious...don't want to even look...

as others have said, no not performance.

I did it to mine (followed Ripcords video) because I removed my wheel well liner due to cutting my fenders. I'd substitute a leaf here and there to how much crap gets shotgunned into the intake due to not having wheel well liners. Not to mention the Cowl has some small holes anyways, so it's not like you are going to get whole leafs.

 

Technically, nothing has been done yet to my tacoma.

Replaced my needle bearing with the ECGS bushing. Got rid of the vibration and growling sound from the front diff. Did it without removing my axle from the hub. It really wasn’t that bad of a job. Now she drives buttery smooth.

 

Wasn't happy with the aftermarket offerings in regards to tire carriers so I took a day to fabricate and weld up this contraption

 

neat steel wheels. I really like those.

 

Hey... you can use your back window. Cheating! Seriously, like that design and I may steal it.

 

Yeah I didn't buy a spare and just painted the stock one to try and match my current wheels

 

My back window is also powered so I just use a switch to open/close it . I can get you some more detailed pics so you can have a reference

 

Anyone have these on their Tacoma?

 

These damn 2nd gens living salt free lives...Look at that caliper.

 

This weekend has been fun, installed a Greenlane aluminum stump bumper and a full engine skid along with a smittybilt X20 comp 10k winch. Really like the Greenlane Offroad stuff out of Victoria, BC - Saanichton.
I also did the rear diff/transfer case fluids and oil change, spark plugs this week.

 

Got my alignment done today after finishing my 4 shocks/struts and replacing the passenger side CV axle assembly. DONE!!!

 

Got my soft topper on.



Also got some maintenance done. Oil change, trans oil done with MT-90, power steering flush/fill, spark plugs, JLT oil separator.

 

Thank-I already have a plan coming together in my head... just laughing at myself as this is so obvious and I didn't see it until you showed yours. Really like the access underneath!

I don't think I will do the back window mod, but it is cool. Nice looking truck!

Yesterday I finished installing my winch power switch and bracket I made. Also cleaned up the winch wiring. I feel much better not having unfused welding cable to the front of my truck powered on 24/7 for something I rarely use.
