I had issues with my dealer with some minor things that are similar to yours OP. I had a scratch on the airbag trim and scratching on the instrument cluster glass. I also had a few other issues with them including not giving me a loaner for a couple days despite them keeping my truck overnight and my advisor not giving me updates during the week that they had it. I was going to punt and not do anything until they solicited an online review via email follow-up. I left a 3 star review and they replied to my review with false concern (contact info they left actually doesn't work). That put me over the top, so I sent a message to Toyota corporate about all the issues. I actually learned through corporate that all dealers have an experience manager on staff that handles all these types of concerns. I wound up having a couple conversations with this particular dealer's experience manager and service manager. They were very understanding and sympathetic and took care of the damages (though the follow up appointment to fix the damages was almost as frustrating as the initial appointment cause they ordered the wrong parts and again was slack on communication). I know from this thread it might be passé to want to get a resolution, but Toyota employs someone to handle these things, so I would try to at least have a convo about it.

The price paid for an item. A customer should be treated good across the board. If all you can afford is a an older ride it should not be treated like that. The issue is 2 fold pour treatment to your property and should be brought up at the time of pick up. Someone who can't take care of the issue at the time isn't going to be taken as seriously as someone who writes about it.the dealer is going to go back to the techs and they are going to deny it , then it becomes he said she said. It's natural to stand up for your employees unless it's an on going complaint.

I always prefer to wash and wax before I bring vehicles in for service of any kind. An immaculate vehicle sends a positive message. I recently had a vehicle into Safelite for a windshield replacement. Had it waxed and immediately dropped it off. It went right inside the corner. The techs were happy to work on it-they respected the vehicle and how I care for it.

It’s always the customers with the low end cars that complain the most.

    2019 Bentley - No complaints
2003 BMW X3 - “why are my brake calipers still rusty after you replaced all of my brakes”

I'm well aware of the new modes of communication, e.g. text & email, BUT I still believe the best form is a calm, polite, factual and sincere face-to-face conversation. If one needs a record, then definitely confirm the conversation with an email especially if a resolution is reached during the conversation. I detest getting blind-sided by a client's email when they had left with no indication of any disappointment.

You can search any dealer for employees.

Obviously you are contesting him and his dealer, so this is getting personal.

    Take a break maybe?

Imagine being a technician and work on 10+ cars every single day with major issues. Your handprint crying just makes us cringe. There are people out there that won’t have their car back for weeks at a time and you get yours back the same day with a finger print. Unbelievable

This is true and it’s not. People should respect other peoples’ belongings regardless of how ‘hard’ they work. That’s the problem with today’s world. No one wants to work hard nor be held to high standards.

Tesla's manufacturing is laughable and not worth the 60,000+ they are in Canada. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wouldn't give a shit if someone got grease on a Tesla.

Grease I wouldn't care about. The steering wheels are ridiculously delicate too, somehow my leather wrap got a snag and I don't even know how and it had a rough patch like yours. If there was one thing I'd actually care about it would be old coolant or brake fluid on a painted surface, that's a big no go from me.

Otherwise you're bringing your truck to an automotive shop and somehow you expect it not to get a little greasy. You should look underneath your truck after a few years. You might shit yourself.

I always wash the truck before taking it to the dealer for any kind of service or warranty work. It usually takes me around a half hour to clean up the grease, scuff marks etc on the inside after the dealer service and usually I have to rewash the truck which takes another hour and a half to get all the grime off on the outside. So taking the truck to the dealer is a lot of work.

WTF. Are you a life coach?

My truck is always dirty. I prefer to send my positive message by not being a high maintenance whiney asshole customer.
