I did (painted MGM which is harder to see the difference)
But ended up going with stickers instead

Same as Hampton Roads? Not sure why “they” switched from Tidewater to Hampton Roads. Maybe similar to the transaction of Nansemond County to Suffolk?

Shouldn’t have to pull much at all. Just push on the two chrome tabs on the backside of center cap. I let them sit in the house for about 5 days after painting just to make sure paint cured.

 

My bad….a couple beers deep tonight. Yes just pull out on the center cap to remove from wheel.

 

I’m partial to Stihl, but have used Husqvarna too. I’ve seen both brands used in the wildland fire business. A skilled operator will do well with both.

Love my Stihl, never had to carry it with me though. I’d stay away from the climbing top handle saws. They are a specialized piece of equipment made for climbing. The ones I used to use at my old job were a pain to maintain and repair. Maybe they’ve gotten better in the past 15 years, but I quickly told my crew to stop using them so much, and told them they were to be used for climbing only. They are a joy to use, so light and nimble for a chainsaw, but just can’t take the daily beating like a full size saw can, and are a pain to fix when they do break!

Have you considered a battery operated chainsaw? I know, I turned my nose up at the idea too, but my semi-retired father in-law bought a DeWalt 60v chainsaw and loves it. He has his own portable sawmill, and has been using Huskys for decades. He said for quick little cuts, nothing is easier then just grabbing the DeWalt and pulling the trigger. It has become his go to saw. He uses it for everything it can handle, and loves how easy it is to maintain. Sounds like it would be perfect in your application. Wouldn’t have to carry mixed fuel with you, just a battery or two and the bar oil. Would easily clear trails of large limbs for you. Thought I’d throw my two sense in.

Definitely concur. I got my MS170 at my local Ace maybe 5 years ago. If you get this one you'll want to swap out the front chain adjuster with a side adjuster (mine was from a 230 I think) and add a steel dog (it's pre-drilled for one). Be anal about PPE, the right fuel, maintenance, and cleaning it after every use.

They look pretty darn good with the close to matching powder coat don't they (just did that as well earlier this week)
