I wanted a set of SCS F5's because of the weight and being hubcentric. However, I don't care to do business with companies who create demand via scarcity, and I see that years later, they're still using the same business model.

So what alternatives do we have that are hub centric, and in the 20-25lb range for a 17" wheel? Anything other than Method and Volk?

FN wheels has some rims that are hub centric and are as light as 18lbs.

I ran Pro Comps on my Tacoma and was super happy. I have SCS F5's on my Land Cruiser now because they were readily available at the time.

Fn wheels is a small family owned company, I can’t remember the owners name but I talked to him on the phone for awhile when I made my order about all kinds of stuff. Great guy and I’ve had my wheels now for about 2 years and love them. Hub centric wheels are the only way to go, had some lug centric pro comps and fought vibrations until I bought the fn’s

Look into Rocktrix, many have gone that route do this scarcity crap which I agree has been the same for years.

i swapped out my ray10s for some summit off-road dakars

kind of weird to not do business with a company whose business model leaves short-term money on the table in favor of growing their brand over the long-term.

They've been doing it since at least 2017. It's just obnoxious now.

I noticed the Konig 6 shooter on there. I remember Konigs from my street racing days years ago. Does FN own Konig or something now? Or do they just sell that wheel through FN?

His name is Dustin. I've bought three sets of wheels from him - great guy. He designs the wheels, Koenig manufactures them. Then they are powdercoated locally.

Had no idea the scs shenanigans have been going on for so long. I don’t have years to wait to hopefully maybe get lucky and score a set lol
    Excited on the six shooters

Same. I'm ordering a set of the FN five stars in 17x8.5". You can preorder them, and get them when they get a shipment. And you don't have to play any petty games.

Heavens for bid you need a spare or a replacement due to an accident. You have to wait for the drop whenever the fuck that is. Screw that.

I went with these Kansei, they are 17, -10, and if I recall are right around 25lbs (I put one on my scale when they were delivered, don't remember the exact weight but it was mid 20's). I like them, they remind me of the F5's or more like their new Gen5, but I guess have a little hubcap.

+1 for recommending FN Wheels. I've bought two sets, the oldest being six or seven years old. Zero issues with the wheels or company. Dustin is standup from my dealings with him; his customer service is among the best I've seen and and I'll continue to do business with him.

Check out my media gallery if you want to see the wheels on both of my Tacomas.
