I’m getting a thumping, creaking type noise Near the front of my truck (at slow speeds), I think it is replicated when turning the steering whee too, after doing the following:

    1/2” top plate
New SPC UCAs (removed and back to stock)
    1.5 AAL
    285s
    SCS wheels
    Trimming/cab mount chop

It’s not a rubbing noise, I took care of all those with trimming. I also took it back a day later and had them re-torque everything to no avail. Any ideas, is it the new UCAs pivoting?

What did you change or what has changed on your truck before you heard this noise? I read that you replaced the Ucas do you have a lift?

I’m in the Salt Lake area.

They didn’t touch the skid plate or body mount, could be something with the bolts but they re-torqued them and it didn’t fix anything unfortunately

So you modified a well engineered suspension and now are complaining about problems. As a famous comedian once said “Here’s your sign”.

UCAs were changed, a 1/2” top plate was added, and new wheels/tires.

they checked the weights on the tires and the wheels to make sure they were brushing the brake calipers as well

Doing some research, I think it’s the SPC arms. Several threads about these being noisy. I may swap the stock ones back in and see if that fixes it. Keep you guys posted

I've installed about 10 sets of SPC uca's. Doubt it's those unless done incorrectly. I do lift installs weekly on Tacomas for reference.

Do the SPC bushings have a grease zerk? Maybe try greasing them first before taking them off.

Lmfao I love this. The wife has a jeep on 40s and I get those complaints.

OP Seriously. If all bolts and components are torqued to spec, send it. Maybe some super lube spray to dampen it. GL

Someone told me about needing to get a sway bar dropper kit. This is happening to my truck currently. You can try unhooking the sway bar link from the control arms to see if that stops the creaking. Let us know

All movable bushing points should be torqued with the suspension in compression.

If it was torqued in droop, you could be hearing binding of the bushings.

I'd be checking the steering rack and tie rods.

Can you get it to do it under sudden aggressive braking?
