I borrowed my buddy's Stihl gas powered to do some initial trail clearing but decided to get myself a 36v Makita. Super happy with it. Handles like a gas powered saw but less maintenance. It's all I need for use around the property and a bit of processing.

Not much yet. Previous owner put some oversized tires and rims
Installed license plate leds today. Cheap on Amazon so bought the entire lens instead of a bulb swap. CAE48974-72BA-4CCB-BE2E-D8BCE0C6028F.jpg91F8E59C-D30E-4A15-A15B-FCC118B143F9.jpg

A buddy of mine just picked up some sort of battery powered chainsaw (i failed to catch the brand). After evaluating the pros and cons of gas vs. battery, I feel like for a guy who is just using the saw to clear brush/branches and small downed trees from trails, a battery powered saw is the way to go.

These look fantastic! I like the stock wheels too and have been considering having them powder coated. If you don't mind me asking (and apologies if it's already been asked), what was the approx. cost per wheel?

Thanks! These are actually the stock wheels my trail came with so can’t take much credit. I just spray painted the center cap emblems satin black. Was wondering if I should go black lugs or not? There was a post back a few pages though where a member had his powder coated he maybe able to share some costs? His looked great!

So far: 2.5” lift (Fox 2.5 DSC), new upper control arms (Dobinson), Cab mount re location (Alpine Designs, show in pic).

    Wheels are 0 Offset.

Now I’m working on the rubs as they come. Pinch weld will need to trimmed or banged in. And I am exploring a sway bar spacer or perhaps a small wheel spacer to clear up a bit of contact with the sway bar at full lock.

That's really sexy. Really love the color of the wheels, too. I've been thinking of re-gearing to 5.29 and going with 34s instead of 35s. What wheel/tire combo did you go with?

I'm looking at 285/75/17s, but there are only a couple of choices out there. It's hard to tell from the photo, but are those the Falken Wildpeak AT3s? Any other photos of your truck with this new setup?

Yes, it does. Just have to press the start button to start it again. That's no big deal to me, but I understand that some folks dislike it. I prefer the security over the convenience of not having to push the button inside the truck (which I would have had to do anyway without a remote starter). At least the engine is already warm, and the cab is nice and toasty or cool (depending on whether I left the AC or heater on, and if the heated seats were on or not).

Well I am ecstatic about my new little project. It went pretty well and easy. Just gotta commit to cutting big holes in your fender. I also am happy to report it was a direct fit to the s and b intake box! No modifications needed! May not need it but I sure do love it and it'll help on the dusty FSR around here.

Yup definitely want to regear myself.

The wheels are Summit Dakar 17x9 -25

The tires are Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 295/70/17

    Ordered more stuff
    Waiting on:
    SSO full plate bumper
    Caliraised LED trail skids
    CBI rear skid plate
    CBI fuel tank skid

On the plans for this month is to powder coat the TRD knockoff skidplate (paying extra for a logo I will hide didn't make since to me), get the CMC done and equal length y-pipe exhaust reroute done.

Hopefully next month is ordering my suspension from accutune and installing a cutback, not sure what I want to go with yet

Prepping for winter, took out my Pro grille and fog lamps and went back to OEM. Had a little fun with the grille surround, not 100% sure what I think. My old tuner side kinda digs the red because red = fast, but the other side of me is very ehhhhh. I have a can of gunmetal dip I might use next year, or I might just peel off the red and run the surround chrome. Regardless I really like the center grill being black.

Apologies for mixing up posts. Clearly I need to read more thoroughly rather than just skimming. Haha! :anonymous:

Either way, your wheels look clean. I'd get black lugs....i still need to do that myself.

    20211107_101428.jpg

I'm also dithering on whether to upsize to a 17" wheel (I really like the FN fx Pro wheels) or just stick with the stock 16" and get them powder coated. I applied the wheel decals to get a general idea what it would look like and I think they would look cool powder coated in a lighter matte black or matte gray/gunmetal. My truck is MGM though and I don't want them super matchy. I also don't really want the wheel being too dark and getting lost in the tire. Would really like some contrast.....which is why I'm also considering bronze.

    Jeebus....clearly I have no idea what I'm doing. Haha.:anonymous:

Here's the post I was looking for. :anonymous:

These look nice man. Curious, what did the powder coat run you (approx) per wheel?

Last Christmas my wife asked what I want. I told her chainsaw. She got me a battery powered Stihl. Would have never bought it on my own, but honestly, it's perfect for what I need. I'm not cutting down any redwoods, so for clearing brush, cutting back branches, and smaller trees, it's awesome. I've used it occasionally, and I'm still on the initial charge.
