Resurrecting in hopes to understand a little more about the BP51 and spacers. Can i use the Headstrong Offroad 1/2" and 1/4" spacers with this kit?

    Thanks!

I’m using the 1/4” spacer, no issues.

    From headstrong?

Do you forsee any funniness using 1/2" driver and 1/4" to make up for the dual battery lean?

    Yeah, from HS.

I’m not sure if it would be a good idea to stack them on the driver side like that.

I’m running 12mm preload on both fronts and. I added the 1/4” spacer on the driver side and it got rid of the lean a little bit. If I could do it over again, I’d go with the 1/2”.

    Sorry, I said it poorly.

I mean to do 1/2 driver and 1/4 passenger.

Cool - i appreciate the feedback.

What about CVs? should i replace them while i'm in there - i'm at 90k miles.
I'm doing strut bar relocation, diff drop, 1" extended SS brake lines, and LCA's already. Trying to make sure i cover my bases.

    Thanks!

Ah gotcha, yeah, I don’t see any issues running it like that. Unless anyone else can chime in?

CVs should be fine too. I know a lot of people add the ECGS bushings as a preventative measure. I also know there’s a huge debate over wether to remove the sway bar or not; I removed mine all together and found the suspension articulates a bit better when off-roading.

    GL!

Reporting back - I did 1x 1/4" spacer on the drivers side and had no issues this weekend. The CV's look good, but i did do the carrier bearing drop included in the kit. Sway bar stayed.
I have a slight vibration between 40-60mph - thinking the ECGS bushing would take care of that one, but i may wait for a bigger job to do that. No rush there.
I'm getting some decent rubbing up front on the cab side, luckily only plastic. I have 285/75/16's on factory wheels. During the install, i had major clearance issues with the SPC UCA, so i used 1-1/4" spacers all around on the wheels (temporarily).

Can someone point me to a good resource to learn about offsets and what i need to look for in order to get a new wheel to fit my existing tire, but stuck out that extra 1" or so?
    thanks!!

I would try YouTube for offsets and backspacing information. There are a ton of good, short videos. I often get them confused myself!

I have put on 14k miles on my bp-51 setup.

    iKamper
    Leitner designs rack
    2 - 3 gallon gas rotopax
    2 - 2 gallon water rotopax
    1 - xl pod
1 - single pod / arb single Piston air compressor in it
    C4 hybrid front bumper
    12k smitty winch
    RCI - rock sliders
    Decked USA deck system

So I’m loaded down.. plus all the camping gear.

been down some pretty crazy trails, off-road pretty heavy, minimal rock crawling but I’ve done it.

overlanding for 5 days - awesome.

I don’t have another suspension system to compare, but I am very happy.

I wouldn’t mind about 1 more inch but I may add a leaf and adjust my preload.

I’m about to add 285/70r17s to my truck from the stock tires and wheels (wife approval - finally)

I was told these are bomb proof for overlanding but not the best for rock crawling / off-roading. But I’m more into overlanding and off-roading when needed (which has been great)

if I had it over to do again, I would kee
    With the bp-51s

I haven’t done much adjusting, but I may make them softer while on dirt roads and make them a little harder when on large rocks and off-roading.

Wheel question for the smarter than my ppl. My lift is getting installed end of this month and hunting for wheels since the stock ones are UGLY.
I will be running 255/85/16. I DO NOT want spacers if not needed. The offset and backspace confuse the hell out of me. The set I'm looking at are 4.5 backspace and 0 offset. How much if any rubbing

No I did not read every post so it may have been answered
Just had lift installed and whenever I hit a bump on passenger side there is a loud noise. Sounds like a dead shock or I'm bottoming it out. Place that installed said they have had that happen due to sliders. Not really buying that. Going to jack passenger side up and look at everything and maybe remove sliders. Any other suggestions

schofield ain’t for the faint of heart… it one of those trails where you’re praying no ones coming up from the other direction.

shock topping out? What are your preloads set at? If it was a slider, you’d think the rattle would’ve been there before the lift.

Did you have new wheels and tires installed with it?
    If so what size?
Did they adjust the pre-load to give you additional lift?
The pre-load on the BP-51s is not there to provide more lift it is there to accommodate weight.
If using this system to get above the advertised lift you will degrade ride quality and possibly your warranty and experience bottoming out of the coil over.
If you want 3" or more of lift BP-51s are not the proper choice.
I love mine and have had them for over a year but have them installed as intended by ARB.

Running stock rims and went with 255/85R16. There is no rubbing. I went with the heavy rear leaf setup since I will be getting an AT Atlas topper. Think they are set for 980# I have 350# of sand bags in bed currently. Its just odd that it's only on passenger side
