Case is built. Now just need to find a time to take the truck out of commission to get it all installed. D3BD9A6B-8DA1-4F11-806B-3BC7A9B8FFE7.jpg

Lol reading through this thread, my first take away: dual cases are prone to leak, so more than enough was my goal :fingerscrossed::rofl:

True, mine looks like that plus I put an extra seal coating around the outside. The adapter is where it's prone to leak the most is what I've seen

Hope you didn't block the oil channels on the inside of the crawl box case!! I did that on the first box I build going ape shit with the RTV.

My coupler/input stripped out almost one year to the day after I built it, that's when I saw the blocked passages. I don't believe that caused any of my failure, but would have not been good long term. So basically don't know, don't want to find out.

I’ve got some cash burning a hole in my pocket and wondering about dual cases. It’d be sooo nice to slow down on the New England trials. :turtleride:

    I have a 3.4 5spd manaul 95.5 taco and a tired clutch.

I’ve read over different options but wanted to ask you folks to see if I have a good sense of the parts I would need to make this project happen.

What is missing from my list of parts here?
    • Trail gear dual case kit
    • 23 spline input gear (I could use a MC gear, yes?)
    • Top shift pickup / 4runner xfer case
    • driveshaft lengthening / shortening
    • 4.7 gears as more $ comes around
Is this list missing anything? Thanks for any input you can offer

Unless you think you need 4.7 gears, why would anyone not get a northwest fab box at this point?

I see no reason to deal with TG shit or MC bullshit given there's another option.

Two 2.28 gears are more than enough for most trails. I can’t count the number of times I’ve needed both 4.7 and 2.57 on my truck. It’s just too slow for most shit other than showing it off lol

Anybody received their ecocrawler or heard any updates from NWfab? I tried reaching out to them but haven’t heard back yet

Any tips for finding a 1st gen Tacoma donor housing for the NW fab box? I can scrape eBay and salvage yard but curious if any one has had luck elsewhere.

Should be able to use damn near any chain driven case for a donor unless it had a center diff. I saw some 3g 4runner cases on flebay shipped for hardly any more than the pick n pull is charging.

I called them Tuesday and they said the 1st batch of pre-ordered EcoCrawlers are "supposed" to ship within the next 2 weeks and the 2nd batch is supposed to ship late November/ early December.
