    Watch the radiator :spy:

Don't do the exhaust. You can but it just gets burnt off immediately.

Actually don't know much about cosmoline so maybe don't do the exhaust either way for that stuff.

Tank is plastic. Transmission housing is aluminum, won't rust and will stink from the coating getting hot!

    Oh, that's exciting, good luck!

I would just spray the frame, suspension components, inside the rear bumper and rear axle. You can spray everything down there, but sometimes it is not necessary.

No on the exhaust, get high temp header paint if you want protection on the exhaust. Tank is plastic coated metal, so its also not worth spraying. Get the frame inside and out, get the back side of the coil buckets from inside the engine bay as best as possible, rear axle, rear bumper, underside of the cab, drop the tailgate and get the inside of the bottom lip, don't get it inside of the spare tire hoist (drop the spare though). Cosmoline gets tacky/sticky so I wouldn't recommend it for moving parts

I had a Cadillac with a bad head gasket. Never found puddles anywhere, nor the smell of coolant, but I had to top it off every couple months.

Well rust proofing went slower than i thought.
Needed to clean the under carriage first so i spent the morning fuckin around with a pressure washer, which i never got to work. So after lunch, i dropped my rock sliders to prep for tomorrows trip to the car wash :anonymous:

    :yay:'grats Rob and Junior!

On a less exciting note - pulled my radiator out this morning. Didn't see any obvious crack or leak path but TBD. New one in garage. Had to come to work though. Might be able to do it tonight, should have turned the truck around so I had the garage light to work with. Oops. But I think removal was the harder part, I haven't taken one off a 3.5 before so I had no idea what to expect. Now I know. Reassembly should be easier. Hose clamps instead of those pressure clamps for sure though.

Might be too soon but any idea if you are going to pull together a Toys for Tots drive or meet this year? Would at least love to donate again.

I'm sure most of you have someplace to grab u-bolts from when you need them, but I found this small family owned shop in Plattsburg NY that I got some from to replace the ones we reused after installing my Hammer Hangers, and some that I needed for my trailer build. I would recommend them without hesitation if shopping local(ish) is important to you: https://www.uboltsdirect.com/About-U-Bolts.html

Also, the "bigger" my truck gets, the goofier it looks on 235 series snow tires. Definitely skipped leg day. When these are toast after this season I'll step into at least a 245 series.

Once I smoke my next set of factory takeoffs I'll probably look at some skinny ATs or MTs instead of factory takeoffs.
