I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma with the 2.7l with about 40000 miles on it, when I accelerate it has a rattling sound coming from the front left side. It’s happens even when the engine is warmed up. What could it possibly be?

Inspect the serpentine belt and look for anything that is loose.

It’s normally around 1500-2000 rpm and it goes away at times

Double check those heat shields. They may look tightly mounted. Give them a hands-on to check for movement. Careful, only do the hands-on when the truck is COLD.

Any progress on tracking this down? My 2016 DCLB sport started doing this exact thing about a month ago. Right at 1500 rpm it makes a slight vibration sound. Also happens if I let the tach drop to 1500. It sounds like a metal on metal rattle, but it’s so consistent at 1500 rpm that I have a hard time believing it’s just a rattle. It’s super annoying because you’re constantly hitting 1500rpm as the gears shift. I’ve given the skid plate and heat shields a good once over and it doesn’t seem to be an issue. I want to say I hear the sounds coming from under the driver-side floor boards the most, but it’s hard to pin point. I’ve also found that if I put the parking brake on with the truck in drive and rev to 1500, the sound will occur. So it’s not just while driving. But it is only while in drive.

    None....yet..
My 21 Taco Sport has done this three times now, under load when upshifting because it shifted into too low of a gear- city driving. I think it's the gas I use (Crown). I filled the tank last night with Shell and will continue using Shell to see if its just rattley valves from cheap gas.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
The only other rattle I found was the left front fender wasn’t tightened down enough and vibrating. Maybe the same guy that worked on my truck transferred to the Mexico plant and worked on your truck
