Anywhere between 400 to 650 shipped.

I was able to buy my fj tcase from ebay for 279 plus tax and shipping, total came out to $405.

With the NWFab case, you can use your stock tcase as a donor and use any VF chain driven case after it. So you are not stuck to a 1st gen transfer case for options.

This set up cost less than a trailgear or Marlin dual case.

So what's the total cost for a nwf setup? I helped a buddy built his dual case using tg adapter and a turbo 2.28 case for his 1st gen tacoma and it cost shy of $1k after tax.

Was this a few years ago?
Just shy of 1k is a great deal.
From what i have seen for a 1st gen Tacoma the trail gear adapter is around 900 or so, before gears and bearings.

With todays pricing a crawlbox is 2598 or around those pricing complete.

With NWfab pricing for their kit i saw at 1400. Then you need a donor case to harvest the components. As VF tcases go, with NWfab any VFcase can be used after its case so the choices are not limited to 1st gen tacoma cases, and the stock may be used as a donor should the original tcase for a 1st gen is not available. A donor VF case can range from 200 to 600 depending on where its purchased.

Even on the higher end for a donor tcase, it looks to be around 2k to complete before driveshafts, which is still 500 to 600 less than trailgear or Marlins options.

If i am wrong, then i apologize. As anyone who could do dual cases less than what is available right now, big props to them. If so, i am looking for a 3rd case.

It would be nice if someone made a 4.7 gear for the 2nd/3rd gen Tacoma T-Case. If I could re-gear the case then I wouldn’t bother with all the work required to run a second case.
I haven’t really researched it but my guess is it hasn’t been done yet because it’s too hard, too expensive or both.

Dual case can still be assembled anywhere between 1 to 2k, depending on what you want. Wait for a 15-20% sale and you can get the adapter for roughly 7ish. If you're lucky and is able to find a turbo 23 spline case, that's where you'll save money. If not, you'll have to fork 300ish for the input plus some more for 21s rf1a. That's if you don't mind a 2.28/2.57 setup.

It gets expensive when you add 4.7 gears. Overall, if you're able to built and assemble the unit yourself, it will be cheaper than buying a fully assembled unit. But if you're not capable of or don't know how to piece it together, then just smile and fork the 2500ish.

Nope. Buddy bought the adapter spring of 2021 this year during their sale. Paid shy of 800 after tax. Did some local searching and found a 2.28 23 spline case for 200. Didn't have to buy mc/tg 23 spline input. Litterily put the adapter on the case and installed. Even if you add 4.7, the entire build will cost shy of 1900.

I'm hoping to see their triple stick setup soon. Sourced my donor case today and will be ready to order a NWF box in a month or two.

I use double low all the time here in the south east. 2.28 and 4.7. I mostly use 4.7:1 just trail cruising, I would hate life without all the different gearing options especially with a 5spd.

maybe it’s the extra 0.29, what diff gearing for you have and what’s the first gear of the trans? I’d be at 229:1 in double low, almost going backward at that point. Obviously it’s nice to have when you need it but I can say if I was to do it all over again I’d have just got the 2.28 in the crawler box.

 I am keeping an eye out for a donor case too to potentially run this setup. Extremely interested to see how clocking it can go. Down to rebuild some floor panels, ain't much different than tubbing.

2.28/2.57 should be good for automatic but not for a 5speed imo. But why not ran a 4.7 in the front case and run L4.7 H2.57 vs LL2.28/2.57. You get more flexibility with the 4.7 imo. 2.28x2.57=5.86 4.7=4.7 (you still have the option of L2.57) 4.7x2.57=12.08

I use the LL2.28/2.57 H4.7 for majority of the time but every now and than, I find myself engaging the LL4.7/2.28 and H2.57. When there's guys who show off their LL2.28/4.7 or 10.34:1 atlas, I play along and do the "you're not that slow" and engaged the LLL 2.28/4.7/2.57 :rofl:only a handful of times when I find myself engaging all 3 is down a steep steep slope where applying the brake is still sketchy. But in those scenarios, I think my butt cheek gets the most out of it vs me enjoying it and pushing off the steering wheel.

I like the idea of more options, but I like the idea of not dealing with TG/MC more.

I think dual 2.57 lows will be sufficient. And when I feel I need an upgrade in the future, I can put a different tcase behind it.

Yeah, we really need an update here @NorthwestFabworks :D

I also see their mentioned crossmembers and skids will be coming. Curious to see what they work up as I was planning on cutting off my stock transmission crossmember anyways.

I will never deal with failedgear. Guys I know who bought their parts also bought into their BS and horror experience. Recently, a fella I know installed their ram. Leak like crazy the second the install was completed and upon starting the vehicle after plumbing and got them on the phone and was told it's normal. After topping off for a week, he drove the vehicle to their HQ to prove a point. They initially refused to warranty the ram, saying oil drips from the ram is normal when you can tell the seal is blown internally to start with. Long story short, after some fuss, they "repaired" the issue.

Same go for marlin. It's nonstop BS about this or that over xx months. Just glad I bought what I need when everything is somewhat in stock. They wouldn't be that bad of a company if they would focus some energy to other products they sell vs their RCLT. Not everyone is into RCLT or differential.

A lot of these smaller company starts off good than struggle with supply and demand overtime. Hate to say it, but that's the truth. And for company who is actually growing and buying out other company, all they're doing is tainting the new business with bad service and bad reputation.

For me, a future built will not be with a NWF setup but an Atlas.
