Yes, I called them. They said it will not be there until 12/22, but is available.

I picked up my 2022 TRD off-road double cab short bed 4x4 this week. Paid MSRP plus a $899 doc fee. Thankfully very few port add ons.

The dealership wouldn’t give me anything in writing but honored our agreement to sell at MSRP when the truck arrived.

The "T47A268" part is the last bit of a temporary VIN. So week 47 build, presently we're on week 45 (I think, assuming Toyota weeks are the same as calendar weeks).

There are three more week 47 build Pro's on AutoTrader right now:

Here is a picture. It came with the technology package and the led fog lights. I spent over a month looking for a 4x4 Tacoma. This is the only TRD off-road that was allocated to a nearby dealership. It’s frustrating shopping for a Tacoma right now. Here in Georgia most dealers are adding ridiculous port add-ons after getting the allocation to maximize their profit.

    Engine choice matters.
Why does color matter at all?

Because the next decade will be more enjoyable if your truck is fun to look at?

I've spoken to and emailed with every toyota dealer in MA/CT. No one is willing to sell at MSRP, got written quotes of market adjustment as high as $15k over MSRP... I would click on the buy it now/show window sticker. They reply back with a (" The sell price will be XXX") always over MARP.

At this point i'll just wait, I have my beater, which hopefully will last until May/June

How feasible is a road trip for you? Others have posted about flying one way and bringing their trucks home from 500-1000 miles away after finding a dealership who could set them up with the right truck for an agreeable price.

It comes down to total spent on vehicle and travel. I would gladly fly/buy/drive if I could keep costs reasonable. One way plane ticket, $400, drive home of fuel lets just say $200. If vehicle was actually at MSRP, that's still only $600 technically over invoice. That's reasonable.

I like your style. Maybe others can offer some advice here or in other threads if they know of dealerships within your search range that are selling for reasonable prices. I paid about $1000 for doc fee and dealer BS here, but I'm in South Dakota so that won't do you much good.

I agree with your estimates. Though a motel/hotel room might be smart to budget depending on the length of the drive. If you can fly in to reach the dealer at opening around 9 or 10 AM, spend no more than an hour or two, and have < 10 hour drive, it could be a one day deal. That's a fairly intense travel day for many people.

Shipping the truck can also be an option--I've been quoted roughly $1.50/mile. This will be more expensive than fly-then-drive, by my estimates, but doesn't require 1-2 days of driving time.

    There are some other considerations:
    • Is your deal in writing (contracted) so there can be no surprises when you get there? Walking away is not an option.
    • How would warranty (non-recall) work be handled? Your local dealer(s) may be even less motivated than usual to address warranty work.
Every person's value proposition is different, but it's probably more than $1k or maybe even $2k savings needed to offset the complexities and unknowns.

Lighter colors do have higher visibility, and sometimes have a slightly lower insurance premium due to reduced risk of collision.

Lighter colors tend to show dirt less.

Some colors look better, or are at least more popular. If the truck is not purely for work, it is nice to have something pleasing to look at with chance of better resale potential.

Anyone catch that toyota's web designer is playing around with the tacoma pro on the live website? New layout, but no new info.

Not even close to the configuration I want, but this is an example of the market adjustment. $5k isn't that bad..lol
