@gugman I'm jumping into an ancient thread here, but I'm curious if you ever did any testing or further investigation of Woolwax, or if you've been able to form any more of an opinion. I've used FF on several vehicles previously, but I'm really tempted to give WW a try this year. I like the idea of a thicker product without the smell... everything I've read about Woolwax from the manufacturer makes it sound great, but I'm wary of something so new--I mean, I'm pretty sure Woolwax will work, but I know Fluid Film works. Have been trying to find independent opinions of WW, but the product seems to be so new there just aren't many around the web.

Used 9.5 cans. Went to town under the truck, in the rocker panels and doors. Next year I will go in bulk with a sprayer.

Just did mine - used 5 spray cans and thought it was thick. 9 seems like a ton!

Ive done it since new every fall. 4 years now in canada.
I soak in degreaser then pressure wash as much of the old off a day before I re apply. From experience, I use a gallon jug and have about 1/4 left after, floor heater or bucket of hot water like mentioned is your friend. 20191020_175131.jpg

Do you have to dilute the fluid film at all for the spray gun or is it good to go straight from the gallon can?

Just spray down your new truck with cosmoline rp-342 and forget about those yearly fluid film applications. What a relief not doing that messy job every fall. The most from cosmoline might be some minor touchup when you drag your undercarriage off road.

Krown rustproofing for me. My CRV still looked great after 11 years of winter driving. Frame & paint.

I plan on doing the same for my Taco.

Any tips for getting the wheel wheels done? Specifically, above all the tires. I assume removing the fender liners is best. I'm using a combo of CRC and fluid film. Had a Chevy that rusted HORRIBLY above each wheel.

I just detailed the truck yesterday with wolfgang paint sealant since we had nice 65 degree Midwest day, plan to hit it with FF/cosmoline this week and get it ready for winter.

When I replaced the door speakers I sprayed a bunch inside the door (since I had the panels off anyway), especially bottom (making shure the drain holes aren't affected)...

I've always been a little hesitant to spray FF up into the door weep holes cause i don't want dust to accumulate and clog them.

I know what you mean, but I'd rather have dust than rust. Once in while I will poke the with a small screwdriver or something...but you are right.

My truck is new and I haven't crawled under there yet this season to FF but on my 4Runner I just drilled a couple of holes into the liner and stuck the wand up there and sprayed it that way. Good enough for me. I just plug them afterwards.

Alright new guy question here. I followed the instructions fairly closely on the main post, didn't go quite as detailed or extreme but overall went well. One of thing I noticed though is that the truck seems to steer easier and move sensitively now? Anyone else experience this after apply ff to the front end? Could be related to something else but seems to line up with my application.

The fronts you can get to through holes in the engine compartment. I believe there are a few plastic or rubber pieces that you can remove for better access.

The rears can be done with an extension wand on the pro gun. If you are using rattle cans, I think you might be better off removing the liners.
