This. If they were tied into the dome and map lights when they come on, that would be ideal.

Are you looking at using the tall or short Toyota OEM switch? Asking since I only have tall slots available. I like the idea of having a way to turn them off when I don't want the extra light - probably because I've never had a car with footwell lights and I'm not sure how distracting they may be in darker situations.

This is all great info -- we want to hear whether you want switches or not. Doesn't have to be all "yes" answers if people aren't going to use something :) I manufacture and sell harnesses that tap into the connector in the overhead console already. I'm sure it can't be all that difficult to develop something that hijacks the SPDT function of the dome switch. Note these are just discussion for an add-on and won't be ready during the launch.

For this type of scenario you can unplug the LOW connector on the PWM and put a cap on it. That way you just have HIGH when the door is unlocked / open and nothing when the dash lights are on. Personally I like it that way. A few newer trucks only have a HIGH setting and don't utilize footwell lights for ambient lighting at night.

I like that especially since it's less complex. Could you also plug in to the LOW for door open and have the HIGH capped if desired? I'm not sure of the connectors will be unique or interchangeable between the HIGH and LOW.

I haven't tested it, but you might get some issues doing that. The factory door open / unlock circuit has a PWM already on it to give you that cool looking fade on/off. If you plug a PWM (factory dome circuit) into another PWM (the LOW side of the VLEDS PWM) you might get flicker due to phase misalignment. I can test it, though. It's just a hunch.

I may be interested in a kit, and if so, yes to the switch provided ‘expensive’ isn’t crazy.

I already voted for blue, but I also like the idea of a switch. Assuming it would still dim.
Cheers and thanks for the time and effort!

I just installed MESO dual light Map and Dome lights. It's nice that I can switch from white to red. It would be even nicer if the footwell lights had that same ability.

When I want my upper lights switched to white light I can push a switch on the foot lights so they are also white.

And If I want all red inside the truck I can just hit the switch on the upper lights and footwell lights and all would be red.

Hood Struts, My version Fogs always ON, Map & Overhead Light Mod,
Tied to the overhead cabin illumination switch would require another type of connector to one already selected. Also, overhead and footwell would ON with switch. With a separate one (can be done) there be more choices. Both, Either and OFF.
Switch for bright select would come in handy when you need to view something you drop without opening the doors. (parked, of course:burp:)

Also note the MESO dual color switching is on each board. Not somewhere accessible for others. It does allow independent changes which is nice.

Side note on that, I am about to attempt to remove the rectifier bridge so I can change color with the truck off.

I’d probably buy a switch if it matched that OEM look… kind of like MESO’s Puddle Pod switch

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
There are times when I'd rather not announce that I'm leaving my vehicle, so I'd be in favor of having the footwell lights on the switch in the overhead console so I can at least disable all the interior lights from going on when the door is opened.

If that's your picture in your profile, it's no wonder you're the "slowest crimp in the west". I can't imagine trying to crimp connector pins with no thumbs. :p

You'd be amazed at how little Dave actually has in common with his avatar... You would assume that there's some little old man sitting next to his trusty ol' pup playing with wires in the garage...
