Oh yeah that will make life 100x easier for him, I would be hesitant to think of how he was going to cut all that stuff out in post after the fact lol. Talk about hours and hours of work that can be easily avoided

When I move into a more managerial style roll after the old man retires I might take you up on that offer. I think we've got a customer or two in the Bend OR area so he wouldn't have to travel as far... it'd be cool to have him meet up with the customer and have em using the equipment on a jobsite while he photographed

Driver side bottom cushion is ripped on mine. I keep thinking I want to put aftermarket seats in but I also don't really want to ruin the value of the vehicle so I think I'd rather just have the couches.

One of my first freelance gigs when I got out of school was shooting office supplies/office furniture for Seville Classics. I would do it all in their warehouse and had to bring my own gear, learned pretty quick how to make that stuff as easy as possible. Taking the photos was the easy part but the editing on that stuff can be a nightmare if you don't plan it right.

He's a good ol boy who used to do product shots on diamond blades back when wolverine was apart of Concut. Has been a photographer his whole life and looks close to retirement so I'm sure he spends even more hours than necessary fumbling through photoshop:laughing:

Here's the website photo of the old version of what I posted earlier... we haven't built em like that in 7 years so I don't know what he would've done back then.Electric-Power-Pack2.jpg

Ah ok he probably knows what's up then, those old school guys that did it all on film back in the 80s and 90s have a whole different level of discipline to their work

I thought about using RX350 seats as those show up in the junk yard with clean interiors all the time.

I live in an area where education and finances are both depressing for the locals. The amount of people on the local car FB groups saying they take pics with smartphones that are just as good as the local car photographers do is tiring. I don't offer to take pics anymore unless its friends.

The sad thing is that you probably could in some scenarios lol. Like how photojournalism is all but dead now thanks to smart phones, unless you work for a major outlet that still hires them. But for anything other than web usage I wouldn't rely on a smartphone to compete with a good DSLR camera sensor or lenses, they are still worlds better.

Yeah, retail photography is a tough place to be these days. It isn't hard to make a good picture and get it printed nowadays which gives people an inflated sense of skill.

I am not media-capturing savvy AT ALL and even I cringe at these new iPhone commercials saying that it can take professional quality movies no problem

Agreed. I love my SLR and what it can do, but given that its 12 years old now, its only real gain is lenses - the software and sensor on my smartphone have gotten so good that its good enough so much of the time. And the phone is so much smaller.

yeah with a DSLR and lens options you have a much broader world of creativity to play with. And raw images out of a phone just simply won't be as good as a raw image out of a high end DSLR. Compressed files sure but not raw ones

I can't really speak for video because I don't do much of it, but I would bet you're still pretty limited with that creatively when on a smartphone too.

Supposedly my phone will do 4k video but I'm afraid it to use it and eat up all my fucking storage space

the canon 5D mark II was the DSLR flagship for video back in the day, I remember when the show House was around they did an entire episode shot on the Mark II and everyone raved about that in the industry for awhile. Of course now the Mark II is obsolete ~8 years later
