I can’t seem to find an SOLID answer by searching so please forgive me for asking this question......

I have a 2017 TRD Sport. I want to put a 2/1 lift. I can’t decide between 275/17/17 or 255/75/17 tires. I plan on running the stock wheels. Will I have any rubbing issues with either set of tires. I understand each truck in not a like and there are difference. Also, is anyone has this setup with stock wheels can you please post a picture. Thanks!!!!

I had a 2019 TRD Sport and did the 2/1 level kit youre talking about.. I fit 285/70/17 without any rubbing.

Do you take your truck off-road? Pretty sure 285s will rub, unless you are driving on streets only.

Take it off-road quite often, be smart and dont hit corners with big dips in them.

Thanks for the response. Are you on stock wheels without spacers?

If youre a fan of the TRD pro rim, get the Replika R213 as the offset is 5.

    Haha! What?!

Dude 285s will rub if you wheel your truck, unless you do CMC.

Be more clear with your replies, clearly you do most of your driving on the streets and don’t articulate your suspension.

I wouldn’t trust his response sir. 285s will rub if you wheel your truck. For street driving it will be ok, still rub here and there.

Must do CMC to fit 285s.

Keep telling yourself that you can wheel your truck with a leveling kit and 285s without rubbing…

    Ok, sure.

The OP asked if he will rub. The answer is yes. I don’t know why some of you don’t check for wheel rub at full lock.

If you wheel, you’d just say that ^. Not, “dont hit corners with big dips.” If you have drive your truck like a Toyota Yaris on a dirt road to avoid rubbing, the answer to the OP is clear.

Yeah, the “ don’t hit corners with big dips” comment made me laugh pretty hard.

Stock wheels are +25mm offset. You would need new wheels with 0 or positive offset for 275/70/17s

Go with the 255/75. Lots of clearance even with flaps

    You meant negative offset?

For example Sema wheels are slightly negative offset and they do make it easier to fit slightly larger tires.

Thanks for the response. From what I'm reading, I can go with a 2/1 lift and run 255/75 on stock wheels with no wheel spacers and no rubbing. If someone has a picture of this setup would be great.

    Go 1.5” in the rear. I went 1” and now I have a leaned truck. I’ve got 265/70/17 KO2’s.
