Been there a few times, lots of lead smelting too.

Had the chance to see the American Hotel before it burned down. Amazing big barroom poker room and kitchen, they are rebuilding it.

Did you need to make a "reservation" of sorts to be allowed to visit? I know that he ( Brett) has said many times that unannounced 'drop ins' are not welcome. I'm planning a visit to Palms Springs this winter to visit some relatives, Cerro Gordo isn't that far away.. I'd love to see it in person, I miss the desert.

Todays activities- I couldn't put it off any longer, the biggest fear that I had was that I was going to break the upper mounting pins on the center console surround, the odd-ball "light" colored wood grain parts that were '99 Limited package specific. This plastic turns into fractured glass as the plastic gets older and sure enough, despite being overly cautious the 2 upper pins shattered... now I need to figure out a way to make it work when I go to reassemble. Those pieces sell for $300 + when you can find them, I know because I've sold quiet a few that I snag when junkyard scrounging. Of course I couldn't have saved one for myself...

Anyway, 3 hours got me this far. I'm not quiet 1/2 there but I will get at it early tomorrow morning. Replacing heater cores sucks! I miss my old '80's full size trucks that had enough room to just take the damn cores out of the bottom of the HVAC box, no removal of dashes required.

My ex husband is an OSHA guy and we met in college so a lot of that was drilled in to my head too. And 20 years working in construction.

I did residential construction field super, never got a fine in 15 years. The owners were very proactive in training /equipment. I have seen some sketchy situations on job sites over the years.

    That's no excuse
Seen plenty of sketchy stuff in my time too
My last job i used to go out in the field once in a while. Actually had a contractor call my boss and demand that I not be allowed on any of his sites again because I kept pointing out all of the stuff they were doing wrong. He said I was slowing them down too much.

Yeah, as a sailor, I have to embellish the story. She did tell me they might have had some in a trailer they keep outside. I use to work the meat department at the commissary. We had a huge cooler we kept them in. Anyhow, I did get mine, and that's my story and I'm keeping to it..
    Ahahahhahahahahaha

Hey on a side note, I got a little chest freezer from walmart for $165. I love that little thing. I think is was a RCA or some shit. Anyhow it's small and will hold everything you need for a month. (I think) lol. Throw a table cloth over it and tell folks its a side boy. LMAO
