Since I don't care to engage with dealer BS, I decided to water proof my front grille TSS sensor to prevent water infiltration and errors.

Used a piece of rubber mat and taped it with 3M double sided tape, here's what it looks like.

    Cost: $0.00
    Effort: 15 minutes
    Result: Priceless

I sold my truck but flex tape will never let any water get in. Vapor and condensation on the other hand might have sneaked into your sensor. Or maybe you didnt seal it enough Did you seal it at all? Does your sensor require it?

I did this exact same thing last year with some of that Gorilla waterproof tape after seeing what a joke the Toyota fix was to keep water and snow off the sensor (a small piece of closed cell foam).

There was a recall on this issue like 3 years ago...

Yes, and all the recall did was slap a crappy piece of sticky closed cell foam over the top of the sensor. It was a pathetic attempt at trying to keep water / snow from getting to the actual sensor itself. What I and others did was take that idea and make it actually work by sealing the tops and side of the sensor mount with the waterproof tape.
