I thought I told you that. Well, shit maybe I didn’t.

Two guys weren’t afraid of this 103 lb dog at 10:30am one Wednesday morning. I knew they were up to no good.

    FD6406AE-EBD6-4E5B-BF3F-DEF2BD32B48A.jpg

These guys already had my first lock open and working on my deadbolt with a bump key. Kilo was just tearing up the door trying to get to them and then came back and ripped (almost literally) out of bed.

Luckily the one guy looked back into the kitchen window and noticed me set up on them waiting to cross the threshold. After it was all said and done, I walked down to the gate, closed and locked it and went back to bed. Slept pretty good.

Now I have gate closers and locks. Keeps people out.

To be fair that depends on the particular ones..I've seen some I could watch repeatedly :)

Very cool. I'm unable to own anything like that.

I thought you just couldn't get a concealed carry permit in Massachusetts...? Pretty sure I know at least one person with a past DUI here in Pennsylvania who owns guns and has a carry permit though...

    Different state, different laws.

I'm unable to get even a permit for a long gun. For Life.

So you can't even own any guns because you drove an Oldsmobile drunk almost 20 years ago, and haven't reoffended? Maybe you oughta think about moving to Pennsylvania; You don't need a stinking permit to merely own a gun!

That's correct. And it's a nationwide ban, as well.

So because you got a DUI in Massachusetts, as opposed to another jurisdiction, it's a nationwide ban?

Yup. MA considers any DUI from 1996 on to be a violent crime.

That's a whole septic truck load of shit; So, if you got a DUI in a state besides Massachusetts would things be different?

Massachusetts sure does sound shit place to live. I drove through Boston one time, I’m sure they way they were driving they had to be drunk, and who wouldn’t be if you had to deal with those road designs

    Cannot “like”.

My ass would be moving even if I hated weapons for general purpose alone.

The again, maybe Colorado should have stricter laws since there’s an obvious problem with drunk driving. Guess 10000.00 isn’t stiff enough.

Bad things happen to good people. However, there is more to this story. MA doesn’t have that strict of laws.

No idea what the gun laws are in MA; I met a fellow DoorDash driver here in PA who can buy a gun as he's not a convicted felon, but can't get a carry permit because he was previously arrested on a harassment charge. I've never been arrested, and I got my carry permit a year ago without issue; Took less than an hour...

I have been arrested three times in my life. I can still own weapons due to misdemeanor offenses.

This is more of a felony situation more than a state gun law. Under federal law a convicted felon cannot purchase or possess firearms.

So if you were convicted of a felony in PA, you would be in the same boat.

    Make sense?

Not sure..never looked into it, but wouldn't change my situation.

High cost of living, winter sucks, and yes driving in town is for the birds. I'm about 40 minutes south of Boston though and never really go to Boston but for concerts.

Depends on the law/issue, but this state is not gun friendly let's just say..many people feel nobody should have a gun.

Felony I can see yes. In my case particularly, first offense OUI is a misdemeanor charge. That's not the issue..it's the "blanket" consideration of it as a violent crime, even if no injury or property damage occurs.

Looking into MA Law, the aggravated OUI/DUI .20 BAC can really get you. Damn.
