So it appears that everything with the Penguins lawsuit got settled. I am glad it didn't get messy. but like I said before, I didn't think it was anything as bad as what is going on with the Blackhawks. So glad that it is all good for all parties involved.

Wow. I didn't even see anything about this. Was it in the local paper?

I just saw it posted on Pittsburgh Hockey Now. I saw the link on Dan Kingerski's page. You can find it there but I'm sure more outlets will be posting it up here shortly.

So quick venting here....Now that hockey has switched primarily to ESPN, I feel like there are hardly any games on TV. Last year, not counting Pens games, I could still easily watch 4+ games a week from somewhere else. Now I feel like there is maybe 1 if I'm lucky. NHL Net used to carry games quite often and now they hardly have them on from start to finish (it's usually NHL Tonight, which just hops around to all the games that are on for the night.) Is everyone else experiencing this or is it just me and my provider? I know they say you can get an ESPN Plus account but I already pay like $250/mo for cable and internet (plus netflix, Amazon prime etc) so I really was not looking to add another service just to watch some games. What are you guys all doing to watch games outside of your area?

I just signed up for the ESPN+, it is 69.99 for the whole year and gives you all the out of market games. I used to pay for the Center Ice package on cable which was even more money. I've also noticed some of the games are on different channels like TNT. Hard to know early in the season if it really is a huge difference in the amount of games.

I'll be honest, the older I get the less sports I watch. So, I'm primarily a homer, just watching my local team, although I do watch the NHL Network in the morning to get a run down on other games.

I dropped cable went to all streaming. I have/had the disney/espn+ subscription for like $7 a month. That saves me $100 a year from having to buy nhl center as in previous years. With all the streaming we pay for, it’s like $83 total a month.

I've seen a total of 2 games on TNT. Not saying I look every single night but most nights if I am home I like having a game on. It's been less than previous years, for sure.

As far as switching to streaming, my wife has a lot of stuff she likes to watch, so I don't really want to go through all of that. She watches TV way more than I do. I just want to watch hockey and motocross/supercross (which I do through Peacock.) So while it's not a ton of money to add ESPN Plus, I just do not want an even higher cable bill when I already pay a shit ton and really don't watch a lot of TV to begin with. I guess I'll just watch NHL Tonight, which is cool. I just hate how they bounce around from game to game, if I'm really interested in 1 game in particular. I'll live, but just wanted to see what you guys were doing and your thoughts.

Another option is you dont have to purchase the entire year. you can just do the monthly for a few months. i think its like 6 bucks per month then cancel when the season is over.

I have hulu live, it has pretty much everything a normal cable service has including broadcast channels like abc, nbc, fox, cbs. It’s like $60/month.
