I miss the days before the internet when we didn't have the ability to worry about things we didn't know we were supposed to even worry about.

I think the biggest quality concern is the gas refilling issues about 5-10 of us have had on TW. Gas pump doesn't auto shut off and spews gas.

My truck goes in Thursday to diagnose. Not a super big concern though because its in the warranty period and will be fixed free of charge.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
This is so true. In fact, spend too much time on TW and you'll be second-guessing whether or not you really want a Taco.
5 to 10 out of how many sold? This has not been an issue with my '21 TRD.

Common enough for my dealership to say they’ve seen the issue before and didn’t need me to reproduce.

I bought mine in May 2021...assembled in Mexico. My TRD Sport works fantastic! I have an iPhone so no issues with the Car Play.

It's very faint but the rubber seal at the bottom of the windshield near the windshield wipers does not overlap on the glass properly. I can take a pic for reference but wanted to put something here in the meantime.

Also, since we had daylight savings I wanted to change the clock. I first thought I had to adjust some numbers but all that's required is to turn off "daylight savings" and the hour drops by 1.

This is a thing? It's happened on my 4Runner a couple of times.

Happens 100% of the time for me if I pump at full speed. Dealership has heard of Rav4s having the issue as well. Haven't heard 4runners, but imagine they share alot of similar components.

I picked up my new Tacoma in early 2021. Took her out on my first camping trip in April/May and noticed a clunking noise on the front end driver's side. Still trying to have the dealer diagnose the problem. I am unsure if this is considered a 'quality issue' as it appears based on this forums clunking noises come up from time to time.

The only other problem I have related to pandemic is my Gears, lift kit, leaf springs, and other items are not all currently available even though I purchased these items more or less the same time as I purchased my truck. A shop is doing the work so I have to take their word at face value.

Coming from someone who owned a second gen, I will say overall I am pretty pleased with this truck and plan on keeping it for (hopefully) many years.

Here's what I was talking about. After looking at it, there's a panel that looks like it partially slipped under the glass. I'm not going to mess with it but I will have the dealership look at it when I visit Easton, MD in Feb 2022.

Yes, I can wait...it's been that way since I brought her home on May 14th. The dealership may just replace the plastic/rubber cover.

I've had no issues with my TRD Sport...I love my truck and have been buying add-ons that my wife hasn't been too happy with...I think she's slightly jealous...lol.

    On to the pictures:

I opened up the hood so you can see the panel I'm talking about...it may just be the dealership re-positions the rubber panel but I'm going to complain of the crease that's left over from it staying that way.

Who actually goes through a visual inspection this critical when taking ownership of their vehicle? Apparently, not me!

I was too busy looking at how beautiful my new truck looks!

Nothing wrong with having TW forum tell you what problems to watch out for. Yes, it may add to anxiety, but still helpful. If I had known everything that was going to go wrong with my 2018, I would likely have made different choices. Even simple things like "the White color Tacoma's are prone to paint flaking off". But I sort of bought mine in a hurry, more or less. Still a decent truck I suppose.

Got mine on Halloween sat on the lot for 4 days. Drove from it Billings, MT to ND no issues, runs like a champ. I don’t see, feel or hear anything unusual.

I do have a trip to Colorado next month. I’ll update after a 1400 mile round trip.

    Nice stable of Tacomas!

I'd rather have a scratch on the mud flaps than a chip from a pebble/rock that hit my truck yesterday.

I've got to call the dealership parts department today and get some touch-up paint.

EDIT: 218 is the color code for Midnight Black...also known as "Attitude Black" according to the catalog.
