No there isn't, check the side profile of your bit. What's called the lip clearance angle in this picture

    Twist drill angles.jpg

If the leading edge of the clearance angle is lower than or equal to the trailing edge you won't cut for shit and it'll need resharpened.

When you get good enough, you can put a 135 degree back on the tip with a hard disk hand grinder in the middle of a field. I'm not that good, but I've met guys that are lol

@Das it mang I second this recommendation, I use this kit everyday for work. I think they're the cobalt vs the black oxide 20211109_113512.jpg

I've been abusing a set of these for years

Great purchase for $15 or whatever they originally cost

Ever come across an annular cutter set that fits in a 1/2" chuck?

Most of that stuff is designed to mount in a collett or a set screw base.

Got some Toyota metal key blanks and had them cut at the dealer.

What an improvement. The aftermarket crap key the flatbed came with that was cut at some small town hardware store wouldn’t even open the passenger door or turn the airbag switch.

    When cutting steel, yep!

If you ever get yourself a drill press down the road, you'll see that you can flip/orient the belt over the pulleys in different fashions to achieve a specific speed.

Most drill presses will have a guide to tell you what "speed" is recommended based on thickness or material type.

Could get a set screw to 1/2" shank adapter for sure though. What would you use it in though, small drill press?

I got a second key cut at a local hardware store a few years back, it took them 4 or 5 tries to make one that would work. They told me it was pretty common for some reason.

Ya benchtop drill press or I also have a higher torque dewalt corded drill. It all started when I was trying to find the best way to cut holes through my truck's frame since even the carbide tipped hole cutters suck on metal - especially thick metal. That led me to mag drills, which lead me to these 3/4" shank annular cutters.
