At the end of the day, they're all just chunks of metal with a hole through them. You could accomplish the same thing with a longer bolt and a stack of washers. I've got the OME CB drop sitting in my garage somewhere, if you're not in a rush, I'll send it to you for free.

No, I get that. But you realistically want the tranny flange and the diff flange to be parallel and all angles through u-joints to be as small as possible. Dropping the carrier I thought only accomplishes making the angle between the transfer case and the carrier worse and doesn't really do anything in the way of vibrations since you aren't messing with any of the flange angles. It would help if you're lifted a long ways because you create a steep angle between the carrier and the rear axle but I thought for moderate lifts the carrier drop doesn't do much. I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I've had a Tacoma...

Go for the whole arm. It's a pain in the ass to press out the old one.

It can be a complete pain in the dick to get the lower arm out if the bolts rust together also... Ask me how I know... Right @johnnym and @mach1man001 ?

You're absolutely right. We installed new leaf springs that gave lift in the rear thereby lowering the rear diff in relation to the transfer case. So the carrier bearing ( u-joint) angle changed. Being recently lifted I would suspect vibes do the the carrier bearing over u-joints going bad but I could be wrong. Happens daily

The big caveat here though, is that if your alignment cams are seized, you're in for a a bit more fun, you can cut the old ones out to remove the LCA as long as you have replacements on hand, and either way you're definitely going to want an alignment afterward.

This is why I rip my LCA's out every year just to make sure the cam hardware doesn't seize. I never want to have to cut them out again - that was horrible....

Yep, horrible experience and an absolutely stupid setup, in my opinion.

Oh it's nightmarish. I cut the stock ones off of my FJ when I did my LT.
I have the SPC alignment bolt kit to keep things moving freely. So far, they've been in since 2017 and I can still align it with ease.

@Brownmatthall , yup, what you appear to be experiencing is driveline angle vibe. That is due to us lifting the rear with your new (Frankly awesome leafs) without doing the Carrier bearing drop. it is simple to put in yourself. I can walk you through it when you get it in.

My alignment cams are 100% frozen. Waiting for a good deal on either new LCA’s or some used OEM ones that can be rebuilt with good bushings and ball joints. Or for a lower ball joint to go. Whatever happens first. Pretty much same with UCAs except I don’t think OEM are rebuildable.

Have you priced out the LCA hardware? It was a few hundred just for the stupid, I mean special bolts to attach the LCA to the frame.

I actually have all the lca hardware new in boxes. Bought it new from Boch because i thought I would need it for an alignment because the original ones were pretty crusty. My mechanic informed me they were most definitely seized and it would be an expensive job in labor to take shit apart, cut lca bolts off, extract old bushings and sleeves, put in new ones, etc. since i was still well within spec with alignment and the ball joints were fine i decided to ride them out until they really need replacing. So i have all new oem lca cam tabs, bolts, etc for a rainy day, unless someone wants to buy them lol

Does anyone know if the guy that does the undercoat spraying, in the Taunton area, is doing it again? Or did I miss it maybe
