The real problem is how we get all this battery material so I’m happy that Toyota doesn’t support electrification and therefore the labor conditions that the miners are subjected to for all the batteries. (Support as much because they still use batteries and such)

Yeah, I'm all for the electric revolution, but lithium man... Where's it all gonna' come from and what is the cost of pulling it out of the ground? How much environmental destruction is necessary to save the planet?

The Lithium is going to come from Nevada and there is no saving the planet. Just try to enjoy the game while it’s still running.

Never thought the kidney grills ever looked good. Yes, the BMW grill has gotten worse as it's grown larger. If BMW wants to use the larger grill on their vehicle's they should get rid of the kidney shape, and switch to a normal shaped grill.

People don't buy BMWs because of the grill design, people won't miss the kidney shape grills.

I agree. Extracting all the lithium at a no holds barred approach is going to wreak havoc on the environment. I'd be fine with the "electric revolution" for vehicles, but at some point there's something wrong if you're destroying more of the environment all in the name of saving it. The folks that are hell bent on forcing the green revolution on the country/world, are doing so with no seeming regard to the consequences of their actions.

I used to say BMW didn't make a bad looking grille. It was masterstroke of design, where you can see the same design cues from 80s to 2000s 3-series. I don't think that's true anymore. And I attribute it mostly to the ridiculous grilles. I don't know where Chevy and BMW are going to from here. The trucks/tahoes are almost all grille.

They're all invested in hydrogen, not like they have a altruistic side to this. They just decided to invest in an different alternative fuel.

The tundra and tacoma were designed in America, for the American market.

Oh I know…still look like some form of a Japanese robot to me. (and it was a bit of a joke… ;))

Seems like all the manufacturers use the same design team, almost everything looks alike anymore.

I think you’ll find that these are outdated stereotypes. The environmental impact of battery-powered vehicles are notably less than ICEs. And the dirtiness of lithium pit mining is noted by many—I’m not sure the people you are thinking of are ignorant or under-informed. Do your own research, but go into it objectively and vet your sources.

Hope the new truck doesn't look too much like the tundra.

Going to be a cross between the Tundra and HiLux is my guess. Pretty much guaranteed it will be fairly ugly. Took me years to come to terms with the god awful front end of the 3rd Gen…probably be the same with the 4th.

I agree to a certain extent. I was mostly referring to the mining for the elements required to make the huge (number of) batteries necessary to supply and power e-vehicles.

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.

How so and by whom? Please enlighten the "ignorant and under-informed" with your brilliance.

The push for electric vehicles is driven top down, driven by the same people who have positioned themselves financially to reap the financial windfalls of all the green energy mandates they think up.

Lol, it's never been about the environment.
