Out of curiosity, what did you end up replacing with?

Finished the exhaust think I have about a 20" section of the original TRD exhaust left.. lol

 

^Looks nice! Is that two mufflers? Two resonators? One of each?

I was surprised to see two different parts and am wondering what the intention was here vs using a single unit like the OEM system.

I've got a spare exhaust for my truck as well as a spare vibrant resonator from an old project. I wonder how loud it'd be if I just replaced the muffler with the resonator (almost certainly too loud, lol).

 

One of each the Vibrant large resonator and the small Vibrant barrel muffler it's quiet in town but drones on the Hwy which I fully expected being a turn down and this short. However it does help drown out the MTR's which is nice. If I did it again I would use the same resonator and the Vibrant oval muffler but it does sound good when I get on it nice deep tone zero rasp and no hiss like my 4runner. Probably keep it this way as I am Old and Deaf....

Gotcha. Based on what I saw I was scratching my head and wasn't sure if you were trying to go quieter or louder than stock.

 

Honestly with just the JFR Y pipe and the TRD cat back dumped at the muffler it was louder than it is now and raspy...

 

How does that sound with the super charger?

 

Not nearly as loud before I put on the 2 res’s. Now it is quieter than it was so where I can hear the whine as I go into boost. It still louder then a Tacoma with the trd exhaust
