Evening folks, sloooooowly getting used to the time change, Happy Thursday?

 

It was a quickie but it’s going to keep me invited to thanksgiving LOL. I honestly hit the lottery with my Mother-in-law she is a good woman!!

 

Seriously, I’m a carpenter , I would have done the same thing. The only other way is to take the chair completely apart and re glue the seat. Ya done good.

 

Yeah, that wouldn't even scratch the surface for some of the thangs that go on around the mountain...

Heavy D and his crew had a blast doing what they do so well.. it was fun to watch a bunch of guys accomplish a miserably difficult task ( mainly because of logistics) and just do whatever needed to be done to get the job completed. The "reward" of riding the basket down the Union mine shaft was pretty awesome- Getting into a basket driven by a 150 year old winch system to ride down to around 700 feet where the basket gets hung up a bit because of the guide timbers being bowed in from the shaft shifting a bit..

 

My brother-from-another-mother! You perfectly summarize my disgust with what the whole holiday has become, as I've explained it the same way to people for a long time. I just get the "you must be crazy" looks.. I'm not a religious person, but the entire purpose of the holiday seems to have be lost to most.

 

What an afternoon and evening…

I had a video appointment with my pulmonologist (coincidentally today) and he suggested that I go to the ER for antibody infusion. So I go. 4 hours later, I’m still in the waiting room with all of the other patients. Several inquiries on time remaining were basically unanswered so I left.

 

We’ll cross that bridge if it happens

 

Yea the stress starts with Thanksgiving. What to eat, where to eat, who’s coming, who’s cooking.
And goes downhill from there.

 

Asking for prayers for a fellow 50's member's Grand Daughter who is in the hospital with RSV.

 

No not Addie, but an equally cutie pie.

Last year was the 1st turkey day at my new-to-me house, no money to fly anywhere to visit anyone and the GF at the time was doing something with her daughter, so I just went to the local Chinese joint and enjoyed some Peking duck.. best thanksgiving in recent memory! This year with the new GF the plans have already changed twice.. I'm ready to just stay home and eat at the same Chinese restaurant.
