Not even an electrical problem; The wire got exposed to heat from the light bulb because the light bulb was loose, and the heat just melted it...

Not replacing anything electrical until after the frame gets replaced though!

Did they give you a date when they are going to start on the frame replacement yet, how much time will they have it too?

I'm think that at the earliest the frame will be here after Thanksgiving; At that point I hope it waits until after New Year's because then I will have to take some of the Christmas lights off the truck if it does show up anytime in December. Once the frame does arrive, it only takes them about three days to do the job and I get a free loaner car for the duration; I have no idea if it'll be a Camry or a Corolla from the dealer's loaner fleet, or a third party rental. I don't really give a shit as long as it has a USB port for my iPod, which pretty much all vehicles have these days! Back in 1998 or 1999, my dad's 1996 Nissan Pathfinder went in for a recall repair, and he was given a Dodge Neon as a loaner; Obviously, since this was (A) the late 1990s and (B) in Virginia Beach, the car had A/C; However, my big grievance was that the damn thing didn't have a CD player. Hell, it didn't even have a cassette player!

Talking about the no-frills econoboxes my dad often rented in the 1990s made me remember the very first time I heard "The Devil Went To Georgia" by The Charlie Daniels Band; It was sometime in 1996 or 1997, and I forget where my dad I were, but we were in a rental 1997 Ford Escort. That song came on the radio and I loved it!

@shakerhood doesn't like country music; However, in my experience, even self-proclaimed haters of country music seem to like The Devil Went Down To Georgia!

The rental cars my dad was willing to pay for prior to about 2009 made his and my mom's personal vehicles look like Rolls-Royces by comparison...

My parents went to London in 1994 (I was only 5 and didn't go) and rented a Ford Festiva; My dad tells me it made him miss the 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer he had at the time. One time in 1991 or so, my dad rented a Cavalier Z24 that ended up having mechanical issues; He brought it back to the rental place and was given a Lincoln Town Car at no extra charge. As far back as I can remember, it was always Cavaliers, Escorts, Malibus, Tauruses, and the aforementioned Neon; From 2010 onward, he always rented SUVs!

A 5-speed Neon with the ACR suspension would be fun; What my dad got was a poverty-spec Neon with no options but A/C and an automatic transmission!

Definitely no joke, though I certainly understand why as it is a serious thing.

Part of the deal is they need to provide you SIMILAR transportation. If you want a truck, ask for a truck and it's not an option for them to decline. I had the Malibu at first because of a shortage of trucks..they said they could pull one in within a week and I was going to try that but ended up being very beneficial for my wife to drive the Malibu for a few weeks.

My dealer didn't do rental onsite so they farmed it out to Enterprise. FWIW

I only cared because of the time of year, being that I was doing a lot of hardware store runs doing yardwork and whatnot.

What sucks is that my local dealer doesn't allow you to have pets in the loaners; Don't know about vehicles from nationwide rental conglomerates like Hertz and National...

My mechanic gets his parts from the dealer at a special rate, which allows him to charge for both parts and labor; The belt he got from the dealer is Bando, and the belt it replaced was also Bando!

Once the dealer replaces my frame, I hope my truck never has to go back there again!
