is it more a light than a button? Very similar one is a part of my keyless entry/remote start/alarm.

Could be anything. I installed a similar switch to turn off my ABS. What's it wired into?

It may be the dealer installed VIP RS3200 that many Toyota vehicles are sold with or it could be something else, you will need to follow the wires off that button and find the actual security module to identify it.

Mine looked pretty much the same, and I don't remember it doing anything. I removed it when I was working on another project and needed the slot, didn't effect anything. I think it just blinked when the doors were locked. If I find where I put it I'll take a pic

I did a write up on that here, yours might differ slightly because mine was from 2005. Did your truck come from Gulf States Toyota?

Very good mine came out of Waco. Yes I have had a couple instances where it has cause inability to start. I unhooked terminal and I guess pushed button enough ??? Finally reset. So Im going to remove but would also like to know whose system it is and find some kind of users manual. I will probably contact a couple dealerships because I believe it was dealer installed. Would be nice just to know operation of it as well.

After scouring the pages here it appears to be Securi Key + system which I guess was a dealer installed system. I managed to find programming and trouble shooting manual so we will see what happens if it stays or if it goes.

    Thanks all

I'm curious what you found out, i just bought a 2015 Prerunner SR5 2wd a couple days ago that was traded in by someone. Well Toyota didn't get a chance to service it before my buy so they still have it. I'll be picking it up today to do the whole follow the leads ordeal.

Maybe that SecuriKey setup but it also might be just about any aftermarket security systems which all have LEDs like that. If so, you need to find the master/valet switch or pushbutton to work it. It would help if you took a look under the dash to see if you can find the main control box for the system brand and model.
