Let's See Your Dogs!!

My dogs get table scraps but never from the actual table.

If I'm cooking chicken or something I'll usually chop it while I make our own food and mix it in with their kibble.

They both won't eat anything other than meat and cheese anyway. They'd starve to death before they ate a fruit or vegetable.

 

I agree with that list except for mashed potatoes. Been giving it to dogs for 50 years. They love 'em

 

Same here. My GS has a sensitive stomach too and I really hate it when he’s sick and craps in the house.

 

Such beautiful dogs. I'm sorry to hear that Bear and Sadie are no longer with us.

 

I wonder if the ham is about fat content, salt, or other things used in curing?
Our puppers love carrots, celery, chicken, and an occasional egg.

 

Pork processing can add water containing Sulfides.
Read the package carefully.

 

Boomer, 90 lb 9 year old Labahoula, has food allergies as well.

Boomer is fed a hypoallergenic kibble recommended/prescribed by his vet. We supplement that each night with food that we cook for him weekly. The wife found the recipe online while researching food allergies in dogs. Essentially it is ground meat, we use turkey and occupationally pork, with a cup of rice or oats, with about 2 cups of water, a cup of organ meat, and a cup each of veggies such as carrots, broccoli, sweet potato, butternut squash, and green beans. Put it all in a crock-pot and cook till the rice or oats are done. This makes about 8 or 9 portions which he get with equal parts kibble each evening.

He did a good job of self regulating his food till sometime during his 8th year. He would walk away from food once he "had his fill" and has maintained the same weight give or take a couple pounds for his adult life. To this day still wants to run and play ball for 20-ish minutes 2 or more times every day. Now he is "coming into" his mature Lab side of late meaning he loves to eat now. He follows our 4 year old grandson, they adore each other, everywhere and is quite happy to clean up any scraps that are dropped. The tough part is keeping the grandson from capitalizing on that for foods he does not want to eat. We have worked to educate him on what is safe and more importantly what can make Boomer sick.

The Ex-Wife took 3 dogs when she left I’ve got a new guy and she has recently told me she needs to re-home Duke.
We’re located in Aiken SC and I’d personally like to re-home close! I tried to keep him during the divorce and lost him.

I’ve since gotten Ullie and he doesn’t like other dogs at all.

We took Duke in during a hurricane, he’s a pretty damn good dog just doesn’t necessarily get along with his other dogs Mainly Mia the Black/White pit mix (which is why he’s being re-homed) and snuggles game is pro!

Back when Scooter and I were doing our Therapy Dog work, I asked a lady on Etsy who makes dog accessories to make this vest as a tribute to the military. She used it for her advertising and it was such a hit that she got orders for dozens more.

As a token of her appreciation for the idea, she sent me a small Visa gift card and a play toy and a bag of treats for Scooter.

That’s pretty cool. You and Scooter giving back. Then the lady gave back to you and Scooter. That’s the way it’s supposed to work. There’s hope for us still!!!

 

Divorce messes everything thing up. Duke is a great looking boy. I hope you can find a great home for him.
